Nice work you do – simple, energetic, in motion. I wants to speak.
Question. I’m easily confused I suppose, all these web site interchanges here. What I want actually is permission to use this image on my poem blog (wordswerepoemsfirst.com). See no way to compensate you for use if that’s what you’d like. Or if you just want credit/link (you specify) and of course, I’d be most happy to do. As you wish. My thanks for your attention. neil
Thank you very much, Neil for your kind words.
I’m honored and you are welcome to use it Just a credit will do : “Character #20” original painting by Marina Kanavaki . If you can link it in anyway [either image or my name] to my blog [marinakanavaki.com] it would be greatly appreciated. If you can’t, no problem!
I look forward to reading your poem! [and more poems!] 🙏
Thank you Marina for your generosity and kindness. Poem is now live. Not quite the take I read in some of your site comments – but I never felt negative in any way about your image. I rather Like responding to images – lets me participate a little farther into the world. Link if you’d care to see…
Thanks again, Neil
Thank YOU, Neil. I’m moved by your poem.
I’m glad you didn’t feel negative about it. It wasn’t meant to either.
I reblogged it so that more people can read it.
Comments are closed at my end to keep any interaction at yours. 😉
Honored!
🙏
Reblogged this on Tao moments and commented:
Another delightful Collections of works by Marina Kanavaki 🙂
To me those eyes are accusing those who won´t let the mouth speak! Disturbing and ambiguous in one way, confident and grounded in another! Strong work!!
Thank you very much, Jostein for your insightful comment!
I truly appreciate it!
🙂
There aren’t many blogs where you can just visit and roam around. Always I find new paintings and forms. Often I return to old familiar ones. Always a pleasure
Oh, I can’t tell you how much that means to me, Stephen.
Thank you! …and this is actually one of my favorite paintings.
The pleasure is mine!
🙂
powerful, sad and haunting at the same time, Marina. One with a huge impact.
Ciao, Bella!
Thank you so much, Francina for your wonderful compliment!
🙂
Lovely! Great portrayal of the stifled voice. But the eyes don’t seem sad though, just defiant! It must amuse you no end to read all these interpretations 😀
The diversity of interpretations is very intriguing! I’m very glad you see that about the eyes…Thank you, Madhu! 🙂
Madame Marina a very stylish minimalist art!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
Thank you Nonoy Manga for the compliment! Greatly appreciated!
I have seen nail biting draw blood before. Could be much turmoil going on inside.
It’s interesting how things we have seen in the past influence our interpretation.
Well done, Marina…very powerful!
Oh, yes it is very interesting indeed! Thank you so much dear FM!!
🙂
Like your talent and your support!:))))) Ann
🙂
!!!!!!
biting nails – filled with doubts?
P.S.:
I hope the bush fire comes not near to you!
!!!
PS:
No, but fire is such an ugly thing…
Thank you, frizz.
FIRE: not an ugly thing, if you would paint a watercolor fire, Marina …
🙂
I like this guy! :)))))
🙂
!!!
Saw this just after posting about my wild strawberry stained lips – sad to hear that it’s blood instead – powerful expression carried by intuitive line…
It’s only metaphoric …not real!
True, strawberry would of been nicer!
Thank you, John.
Where did the cherry pie go? 🙂 That’s quite a character!
ate it! 🙂
Thanks Charlie!
Is this what happens when you can you are not aloud to speak or have freedoms to talk about your views? That is what I see. Very striking.
Thank you Jennifer! [miss your posts BTW!] Could be, but not all restrictions come from outside… worst ones -I think- are our very own!
A very powerful image. Clearly it evokes different responses from different observers. But one thing we each share- we can’t take our eyes away from this haunting image.
Tom
Thank you very much, Tom for the compliment!
The character sais: I did it! I ate the artist…. OUPS 🙂 sorry!
-20 is a lucky number..
Congratulations Marina
…that artist would be err me and you are probably RIGHT too!!! 😀
Thank you Dominique!
I didn’t know about 20!
A different one for you, I see it as something said or almost said that she regrets/rues.
Very very close!!! Someone who can’t speak not necessarily regreting it… Thank you Stephen! 🙂
many feelings! passion, surprise, maybe the character is intrigued? I love the eyes! so deep and full of emotions, they are more attractive than the red.
xoxo
I’m so glad you see that, Dee! Thank you so much!
xxxxxxxx
OOppss … I believe I’m seeing something different than the others.
It looks like a man who was a litle too frorward with someone he just
met. She did not like it. hahaha – perhaps not. ~~~ : – )
It does look terrific on the t – shirts. i love the one with long sleeves
because there is a partial image creatin dialog.
Very nice again, Marina.
Wow, what a story! Thank you so much dear, I’m so glad you like it and the t-shirts. Yes, I know what you mean! Have a great weekend, Isadora!
To me, her beautiful lipstick has smeared from a delicious kiss with her lover – a stolen moment in a hectic day. It’s fascinating how we all see different stories, isn’t it?!
Oh, yes it is! One reason why I don’t name my paintings is that I I don’t like to guide the viewer and I love to hear the different stories! My hint is: speechless! Thank you, Patricia and I love your interpretation!
She’s beautiful. And I love your hint! 🙂
Another cool character. My first impression was “I’m sorry about the bloody nose” My second impression was having a handful of strawberries smashed into my mouth faster than I could eat them and seeing them ooze through the fingers. Now that sounds good. 😉 Have a great day my friend.
Ah, thank you so much Terry! Strawberries do sound very nice but your first guess was closer! “Blood” for not being able to speak. You too have a wonderful day!
🙂
Hi Marina,
Picasso-esque! I think the red (makeup?) smear introduces a whole new emotional dimension, and I always admire your simplicity of line.
Thank you, Russ, I’m very flattered! [Red for blood but metaphorically.]
Well this face is interesting with it’s bloody hand over it’s shocked, or ut-oh face. I also think it will be a big seller in your store. 🙂
Thanks Deb! You think? This was actually the first of the series [Characters] so it his kind of special to me…
🙂
