Yikes you’re turning into a bad habit again. I missed church today due to my commenting! Tomorrow… Handcuffs here. 😀😀😀 That is, I need more discipline!!! 😸😸😸
A ha ha ha haaaaaaaa….. discipline huh?!!!!!! Joking! Discipline is good! Have a lovely night. 🙂
Yes discipline is where it’s at. Reminds me of this old gem… https://vimeo.com/278601998 Not quite up to 21st CENTURY SCHIZOID MAN but still fairly good. I’m pretty sure Fripp is playing those arpeggios… no digital sampling here. I’m sure your husband has or will blog about all this. Both of you have an amazing store of musical knowledge! 🙂 Cheers! 😁
Wow. I do like that. Operating on about 10 levels! 😉🤩😅
I’m tempted to ask about the 10 levels but maybe it’s best to leave it mysterious! 😉 …with my full gratitude!!!!!! Merci merci!!!!!! 🙂 🙂
Mystery is good. Once I explained something to a German gal in India and she said, “Oh, you’ve ruined the mystery!” Nice work! ☺👁👍👏🎭🌛🌜😺🎅
😂🤣😉… thank you though, means so much to me. 😊😊😊
But I will just say it reminds me of a Czech artist I met in the National Gallery in Ottawa. She introduced me to the concept of “planes.” 😺🌃💫🙂💫😸✨💥✨🌅😺
🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi My sweet Marina, Fall is here. I have time to catch up on my favorite blogs. Your work is always outstanding. Keep it up! Melody
Ah, it’s lovely to hear from you, Melody and thank you so much for your sweet words! 🙂 You too keep up the wonderful work you do!!! xoxoxoxo
Thank you!
Usually I don’t comment when so many have said what I want to say but your work is so compelling that it compels me to simply say… Amazing.
Oh, thank you so much, Kurt. I’m so happy you like my work. Have a great weekend! 🙂
I love the movement in this piece.
Thank you very much for your kind words! 🙂
I love the colour manipulation and the sheer
creativeness of this piece of art, you certainly
have an amazing technique Marina, and I do
like this one my friend 🙂
Andro xx
I am so flattered, Andro! I really don’t know about technique – I keep learning and forgetting / weird… Thank you so much, my friend! 🙂
I think that painting, like many mediums becomes instinct as one’s skills develop, I like the style and freshness in your artistry, it has such a welcoming and absorbing quality 🙂
Andro xx
You are right about instinct, however it’s a never ending learning process – and a very enjoyable one! I am still very very flattered though and very happy you find my work agreeable. Have a wonderful evening! 🙂
I certainly do find your work agreeable, and I have only covered a very small percentage of your versatility. I already admire your work, you are a fine artist my friend 🙂 Have a very nice evening also 🙂
Andro xx
big big big smiles back!!!! t h a n k y o u !! 🙂
You really are welcome and I will be calling in again on the morrow, I am looking forward to viewing much more of your art, so far I am spoiled with your wonderful imagination.
Thank you for your kind thoughts on my comments and do enjoy a marvellous evening 🙂

Reblogged this on Patrick Solere and commented:
Le mois du re-blog
Je me suis amusé à lire vos blogs en entier et y découvert des pépites, je vous propose de les faire (re)découvrir ainsi que vos nouveautés.
Yes, I purse my lips and bat my eyes like that when I look in a mirror– I recognized the whole scenario immediately… : P
How do you come up with these amazing color combinations? I wouldn’t have thought those colors would work together, but they obviously do, to great effect. I like how the portrait is slightly off-center, and how that dark upper left-hand corner gives the image extra “pop.”
I believe you must step forward and take another bow, my dear Marina!! : )
😆 No way, you don’t! !! 😆
Don’t ask about the colors… there are times when I preorganize the crime and go for certain combinations (mood plays a role there) and there are those other moments when I have absolutely NO idea why – what or how and I just go for it. That was the latter!!!
I bow to no one!!! 😆 Joking ofcourse!!!
Merci beaucoup mr. very talented man. I am very grateful for your generous words! 🙂
Marina,
There is so much to see here. Picasso-esque, eyes:storms, light, nebula, when you look close, and how a simple line can inflect an ear, and a vortex a chakra. The masterpiece of this is how it, and so much of it, invites projection!
Wowie Zowie! 🙂
Wowie Zowie back, Russ!! What an insightful observation!! Thank you so much, my friend. I only wish I could be so fluent in words to write all those emotions I get when I read your poems… Thank you!!
🙂
I already have my reward in your comments Marina. But someday, in your own time, maybe the words and the emotions they evoke may be a muse for something you’ve painted. You and your brushes speak a great language!
Ah, Russ, thank you!!
🙂
I am always moved by your talent and skill…the picture is breathtaking! Blessings and hugs always Marina!
Ah, thank you so much, Wendell. This means a lot!
Have a wonderful evening and coming day!
🙂
ooooooooooooo just lovely 🙂
Thank you!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂
Incredible, Marina!
Incredible detail and layers all blended expertly into a masterpiece!
🙂
What a compliment, my dear FM!!! Thank you so much – even though I feel far from being an expert!! Hugs & xxxx
🙂
Wow, wow, WOW. Amazing.
Love the colour and the lines. I love the layers – can see so many layers. You are astonishing, Marina. Very gifted. Inspired.
Oh, I am so glad you see the layers, also layers of mood! Thank you, kind, brave, gifted and inspiring Noeleen! 😉 xxxx
I find in this painting an eclectic mix of mystery, vibrancy and of course colour. Do I also sense a sensuality in the eyes?
Shakti
The eclectic mix sounds really nice, Shakti. As for the sensuality, I suppose it’s there, she is a woman after all! 🙂 I am really glad you like it. Thank you!
🙂
Mysteriously sensual and rich with that light touch you bring to all of your work – I particularly enjoyed the detailed images – little works of art on their own. If this was a ‘phase’ you went through in the past I really hope you revisit it in the future. This is an eye feast Marina…
John, your words are always warm and supportive and I am very grateful for that! “Phases” are a part of us. We just get to pick from the garden of “phases” which one suits us better at the time, so I may revisit soon! Thank you, my friend!
🙂
So beautiful.
Thank you, my dear!!
🙂
Self-portrait? Great.
Not intentionally, but I guess there are always parts of us in our paintings, aren’t there?! Thank you, Jo!
🙂
dramatic beautiful painting , Marina. I love the expression in the eyes…
groetjes en happy summer, 🙂
Francina xxxxxxxx
Happy summer to you too, Francina! I am so happy you like this, my dear, thank you!!

A very good portrait, Marina. I love the deep colours and your drawing skills are very good.
Thank you very much, Bente for your kind words!
🙂 Happy Monday!

sriram
Probably because it’s early work. Thank you so much, Sriram. I’m glad you like it!
🙂
Ah, what do I say! You amaze me every time… great, indeed! Stupefied!
Ah, Tanumoy, thank you so much for your kind words and support!
🙂
Always a pleasure, Marina. 🙂
Marina, beautiful she has character.. 🙂 Loved the whole view as If standing back.. Good luck on all your art work sales my friend 🙂
And standing back she is!!! So happy you like it! Thank you, my dear Sue! 🙂
This is stunning Marina! And unexpeced! Love her eyes, and her luscious pout 🙂
So happy you like it, Madhu!!! That pout was the result of fingers instead of brush!! Happy Thursday!
🙂
Love it!!!
Very happy to hear that! Thank you!
I’m never disappointed at the magnificent beauty you bring forth in boldness yet subtleties that pull one into your art! I see electrical flow in the linear composition and, the depth of a very deep well in her expression ~ yet, it’s the darkness that makes me “think..”‘
My dear Deborah, thank you so much for your beautiful comment. The darkness has always been a companion just like light. Sometimes we are in harmony and sometimes not. In most cases however -I like to think- it makes us better people with warmer smiles. 😉
Incredible work, Marina. 🙂
Thank you so much, my dear!
🙂
Holy Moly M …………………
Incredible …………

I treat every new work as if it were my first one therefore I know that if I did this again, you’d probably see a very different aporoach! You are so sweet, C!!! xxxxxx
🙂
It’s nice to see a new side of your artwork. When we are creative – we are creative – there are no limitations. Well done, Marina.
Ah, thank you, Issy. I’m very glad you appreciate this too.
Happy [rest of] Wednesday!
🙂
Waooo, this is amazing Marina! ❤I really love it❤
Looking forward to see more portraits (^_−)−☆
Thank you very much, my dear Violet!!! Happy Wednesday!
🙂 xxxx
Portraiture is my artistic specialty and I love your portrait of the woman. It has a ring of Picasso, maybe you are channeling him?
Growing up with images from such emblematic painters and musicians have surely influenced me. Thank you so much for your kindness!! Even more so coming from an expert!
🙂
PS I’d love to see your work!!!!!!
Ah ha … another one from what I call, “The Dark Years Collection” 🙂 …. Great use of underlying colors … but to me, I see sadness in the eyes.
Yep, and even earlier!! It is actually one of the paintings that triggered my “Character” series [for my solo exhibition]. Sadness can be a sweet friend!
Thank you, Frank!
🙂
this is a different face of your art work! astounding 🙂
It’s very early work of mine… I’m glad you like it, Laura. Thank you very much!!
🙂
love it! reminds me of Picasso
Thank you!!!
🙂
I love this and what I say next I say in the kindest way because it is the only way I can explain myself. It is ugly and yet yet so very beautiful. xx
I know exactly what you mean, not only is she ugly, but deformed too!! I am relieved though and very happy that in this you can find beauty! Thank you!
🙂
I am so pleased that you understood what I said!! 😉
🙂
that’s a great creative step into a new concept: FACES! Congratulations!!!
P.S.:
you would take the gold pieces by revealing me to the police, Marina? No more trust in $ or €?
greetings by

No Frizz! Never! 🙂 As for currency, €, $, ¥, £, silver or gold, all the same, aren’t they?! 😉
Thank you, Frizz!!
hi Marina, one is delivered more quickly to the police, than you think. In Istanbul, it’s enough if you just simply stand there silently, without moving. This is interpreted as an illegal resistance against the Islamization of the country by Erdogan. In Frankfurt, where I am, you would be treated like a criminal if you join the demonstrations of the “Blockupy” movement, which criticizes the strategy of the European Central Bank.
Great work Maria

Beautiful portrait you’ve captured her sharp expression very well.
Dilip, glad you caught the sharp expression!!! Thank you so much for your kind and supportive words!
🙂
You did this? WOW! It has a Picasso fell to it. Your rang and skills are EXCELLENT!
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
You flatter me, Francine!!! As this is early work of mine, my skills are kind of raw, however I do see elements I still like today. I am glad you like it and thank you, my dear!
🙂
Not flattery, but recognition of the beginning of great skill!
🙄 You are very sweet, Francine, thank you!
Beautiful portrait. Love the lines and colors.
Thank you very much, Cynthia. I am so happy you like it!
🙂
Fabulous Marina. Really wonderful lines, textures, and tones. Wonderful rich color.
At that time in my life I used them by the buckets!!!
Thanks, Terry! Means a lot!

Too dark and brooding for me.
Dark and brooding it is, indeed.
