  1. Yikes you’re turning into a bad habit again. I missed church today due to my commenting! Tomorrow… Handcuffs here. 😀😀😀 That is, I need more discipline!!! 😸😸😸

  2. I love the colour manipulation and the sheer
creativeness of this piece of art, you certainly
have an amazing technique Marina, and I do
like this one my friend 🙂

    Andro xx

      • I think that painting, like many mediums becomes instinct as one’s skills develop, I like the style and freshness in your artistry, it has such a welcoming and absorbing quality 🙂

        Andro xx

        • You are right about instinct, however it’s a never ending learning process – and a very enjoyable one! I am still very very flattered though and very happy you find my work agreeable. Have a wonderful evening! 🙂

          • I certainly do find your work agreeable, and I have only covered a very small percentage of your versatility. I already admire your work, you are a fine artist my friend 🙂 Have a very nice evening also 🙂

            Andro xx

              • You really are welcome and I will be calling in again on the morrow, I am looking forward to viewing much more of your art, so far I am spoiled with your wonderful imagination.

Thank you for your kind thoughts on my comments and do enjoy a marvellous evening 🙂

                Andro xx

  3. Yes, I purse my lips and bat my eyes like that when I look in a mirror– I recognized the whole scenario immediately… : P

How do you come up with these amazing color combinations? I wouldn’t have thought those colors would work together, but they obviously do, to great effect. I like how the portrait is slightly off-center, and how that dark upper left-hand corner gives the image extra “pop.”

I believe you must step forward and take another bow, my dear Marina!! : )

    • 😆 No way, you don’t! !! 😆
Don’t ask about the colors… there are times when I preorganize the crime and go for certain combinations (mood plays a role there) and there are those other moments when I have absolutely NO idea why – what or how and I just go for it. That was the latter!!!
I bow to no one!!! 😆 Joking ofcourse!!!
Merci beaucoup mr. very talented man. I am very grateful for your generous words! 🙂

  4. Marina,
There is so much to see here. Picasso-esque, eyes:storms, light, nebula, when you look close, and how a simple line can inflect an ear, and a vortex a chakra. The masterpiece of this is how it, and so much of it, invites projection!

    Wowie Zowie! 🙂

    • Wowie Zowie back, Russ!! What an insightful observation!! Thank you so much, my friend. I only wish I could be so fluent in words to write all those emotions I get when I read your poems… Thank you!!
      🙂

  5. Wow, wow, WOW. Amazing.

Love the colour and the lines. I love the layers – can see so many layers. You are astonishing, Marina. Very gifted. Inspired.

    • The eclectic mix sounds really nice, Shakti. As for the sensuality, I suppose it’s there, she is a woman after all! 🙂 I am really glad you like it. Thank you!
      🙂

  6. Mysteriously sensual and rich with that light touch you bring to all of your work – I particularly enjoyed the detailed images – little works of art on their own. If this was a ‘phase’ you went through in the past I really hope you revisit it in the future. This is an eye feast Marina…

    • John, your words are always warm and supportive and I am very grateful for that! “Phases” are a part of us. We just get to pick from the garden of “phases” which one suits us better at the time, so I may revisit soon! Thank you, my friend!
      🙂

  7. I’m never disappointed at the magnificent beauty you bring forth in boldness yet subtleties that pull one into your art! I see electrical flow in the linear composition and, the depth of a very deep well in her expression ~ yet, it’s the darkness that makes me “think..”‘

    • My dear Deborah, thank you so much for your beautiful comment. The darkness has always been a companion just like light. Sometimes we are in harmony and sometimes not. In most cases however -I like to think- it makes us better people with warmer smiles. 😉

    • Growing up with images from such emblematic painters and musicians have surely influenced me. Thank you so much for your kindness!! Even more so coming from an expert!
      🙂
PS I’d love to see your work!!!!!!

  8. Ah ha … another one from what I call, “The Dark Years Collection” 🙂 …. Great use of underlying colors … but to me, I see sadness in the eyes.

    • Yep, and even earlier!! It is actually one of the paintings that triggered my “Character” series [for my solo exhibition]. Sadness can be a sweet friend!
      Thank you, Frank!
      🙂

  9. I love this and what I say next I say in the kindest way because it is the only way I can explain myself. It is ugly and yet yet so very beautiful. xx

      • hi Marina, one is delivered more quickly to the police, than you think. In Istanbul, it’s enough if you just simply stand there silently, without moving. This is interpreted as an illegal resistance against the Islamization of the country by Erdogan. In Frankfurt, where I am, you would be treated like a criminal if you join the demonstrations of the “Blockupy” movement, which criticizes the strategy of the European Central Bank.

  10. Great work Maria
