Many years back, inspired by Georges Bataille’s “Le Mort” I did a few paintings.
2 of them you can see here in my blog [Le Mort and Le Mort II]
You can imagine my joy when I got this notification
by a very talented poet [and musician/artist/writer/birdwatcher/tutor/cook] this morning
who wrote this poem after my work.
So here is thecheesewolf‘s [aka Gavin Jones] poem titled: Le Mort
Le Mort
The scratch of ink, the wash of blood,The breath of lust and love and dust,
A wrap of linen (bed or shroud),
The tomb unlocked, a broken frame.
And past this list: a life in flow.
The fluid stains, forbidden pains,
The cold, external brush of god,
Who whispers to the pen: “breed death”.
And death will come, and you will flood
Your skeletal, yet swollen, grave.
The story of your eye encrusts
Itself, accursed, around your core.
The tale, the book, the heart, the brush.
The dead man, draped across the cloth.

The key to happiness was perspective, and I’ll be back with KMO in this thread…. but your gratitude is contagious!! I loved that the most verbose expression with words I’ve read here, was one of celebrating somebody else!!! Well met! Let me know if the ceiling caves in, and you need a stormy weather friend! I will fly across the planet to make your frown turn upside down!!
Gratitude is everything and I am so glad it’s contagious! But you know better don’t you?! Yes you do! Thank you so very much for all your kind and supportive words. How noble! Keep riding the tiger!
🙂
coincidences you say?!!! One thing I can surely tell you is that YOU are riding that tiger!

Wonderful news and thanks for sharing the news. When I first saw the painting before reading the post, I thought about how it was earlier-Marina. 🙂 … I went to the linked post, and I always enjoy you including closeups that show your intricate detail! There’s always much more than initially meets the eye. 😀
Thank you so much, Frank. Means a gret deal to me!
