If you’ve heard of the Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan), his loyal and trusted canine companion was a pit bull named “Daddy.”
🙂
Yes, I know him. I watch his shows. Victoria Stilwell has done a lot of work trying to convince governments about the unjustness of BSL (breed specific laws), which victimize dogs according to their breeds, especially pits.
Pit bulls are so misunderstood… Wasn’t this breed called “babysitter” or something a few years ago? (or am I confusing the dog breeds?) I guess it all changed when dog fights begun…. Such a pity…
Yep, that’s them and it’s really sad how they are being treated… Dog fights and some perversed human brains.
Sorry, they still give me fear… but I do appreciate the sentiment (& the sweet photo 🙂 ).
Appearances can be deceiving. They are softies at heart but some people train them to be aggressive. Glad you appreciate the sentiment (and photo!)! 🙂
Compassion seems to become a rare commodity as humans ‘progress’ doesn’t it?
It does indeed, Madhu… sadly.
Like any animal, bad owners not bad dogs. Pit bulls have such a difficult time here – because of humans. So many thoughtless people are breeding them for dog fights – any breed can become aggressive and vicious under those circumstances. And people hold such fear of this breed, when the dogs can also be the mildest most gentle creatures. The American Hero dog of the year is a pit bull.
Thank you, Phil for the feedback – I remember your post: http://philosophermouseofthehedge.wordpress.com/2013/10/09/run-those-dogs-out-now/ about Elle [Finalist in the Therapy Dog Category of the American Hero Dog Awards]. I agree with you! 🙂
Have a great Monday and new week.
🙂
I enjoyed your dogsitters movie on youtube! Complicated studio work?!
I heard your voice near the end too!

Thank you so much, Frizz.
No, I wouldn’t say it’s complicated… thankfully!! 🙂
Thanks for the lovely greetings from the two labs!! 🙂
Autumn greetings from Poland.
Greetings, Marko.
completely transported by your music and vocals – ethereal yet strong – fabulous Marina…
Ah, John, that is so nice to hear. Thank you, my friend.
🙂
Great post, Marina! I just can’t imagine anyone mistreating any animal. So many sad stories, but if humans would act more humane (in every aspect), the world would be a happier place! 🙂
Yes, I sometimes wonder too about the word ‘humane’… you are right, it would be a happier place!
Thank you, Lauren! 🙂
Great work Marina
Thank you very much, Jake!! 🙂
Interesting how opinions from pit bulls are A-to-Z .. thus the importance for good, responsible pit bull owners to be their advocates! …. and thanks for the song that I greatly enjoyed!
Thank you, Frank. I’m so happy you enjoyed the song. it was written for our own rescue dog.
As for pits, well theie looks can be intimidating and scary especially to people who are not very familiar with dogs. That is exactly why some stupid [excuse me] owners train them to be very aggressive. Also these dogs are used for dog fights, an extremely inhumane sport. Hence their bad reputation.
Well said … and again on the song, well done!
🙂 🙂
It’s so sad when people discriminate against dogs just for what they look like. I hope people begin to look at pit bulls differently.
So do I, sweet Bongo, so do I!
Seems that you have more people to train other than your person! 🙂
Maybe I should start my own people training school.
I can see the sign: “Bongo’s Human Training”!!
LOL – oh wait, I mean BOL.
So many of this breed of Dog has been branded, and its not the Dogs but the owners who have been to blame.. We can not blame the dog…
Thank you for highlighting their plight,,, I Know of many such cross breed of pitbull which are beautiful pets..
Wishing you a Peaceful weekend Marina..
Love Sue xox
Thank you, Sue, it is exactly so and very unfair punishing them for our own wrong doing.
You too have a beautifully peaceful weekend, my dear.
xxxxxx 🙂
I had a pit bull. She died last year after 14 years. She was a great dog. Good idea to include the music.
I am sorry to hear that, Stephen …so you know first hand.
Thank you, my friend!
🙂
I enjoyed the video and the music. It has many changes throughout which draws you to want to listen intently.
It’s sad what happens to many animals. It’s sad that people want to have perfect pets when there are so many sick ones that can give them special love. Bless you for posting this. Perhaps, it will bring more awareness,
Sorry, I hadn’t viewed this before. I am still trying to catch up with my blog followings.
BTW … when I first read the words Pit Bull I thought it was my favorite singer Pit Bull. ~~~~ : – )
xoxo
Issy, I’m so glad you agree on this. There really is no breed that is evil and dangerous. It is how they were treated or [wrongly] taught that is to blame. This breed particularly is probably the most ill treated of all breeds and to top it all they get executed in some countries.
Thank you for your kind words on our music!
On Pit Bull [singer] 😆
Please don’t apologize about visits. I know how hard it is to follow everyone’s pages!!!
Have a wonderful Friday, my dear! 🙂
I really enjoyed your music. So much talent, and you have a beautiful voice. I agree on the pit bulls, so misunderstood.
Thank you so much Donna for your kind comment on our song! 🙂 I’m very glad you agree!!! 🙂 xx
Great post, Marina.
Pit bulls are misunderstood. The only thing that can make a dog get mean or vicious is the way people treat them.
Ah, yes, but in the end it’s the dog that gets punished and in their case punishment is execution. Something wrong with this image, isn’t it?! 🙂
Thank you, my dear Deb! (hope your subscription problem was solved!)
Excellent Mariana! Such misunderstood creatures. It’s amazing, for all out smarts how ignorant humans can be.
Yep, seems so… Sad really. Thank you, my dear Elena! 🙂
Great post, marina… as I did on my blog, this is another post to spread around… a terribly sad story!

I love your quote “When a man has pity on all living creatures then only is he noble”… I’m buddhist since many years… Compassion is my companion, every day…
We should not blame the dogs but their rascals’ owners!
Good night! :-)c
I know Claudine, and I saw your post on puppy doe. I really wonder how will we ever be ‘cleared’ from all the bad we’ve done… and keep doing, in some cases without remorse. Thank you very much my dear and you too have a good night! 🙂
& twitter of course … 😀
🙂 🙂 !!!
Great video Marina , I’ve subscribed to your youtube channel and your facebook today 😉
Thank you so much, Longbull and thanks for subscribing!!
🙂 🙂 …and to twitter! Your support means a lot! 🙂
Well done M xo
Thank you, Cat!!!! xxxxxxx
❤ ❤ xo
Great post, Marina, and I enjoyed your music!! Happy Thursday to you!! 🙂 ~xoxo!
Thank you, my dear friend!! 🙂 A happy – beautuful Thursday to you too!!!! 🙂 xxxxxxxxx
I don’t think I could resist that face if I came across him/her at the shelter. Such a sweetie.
I agree, Cara!!! 🙂
From my experience I think each breed has similar characteristics among it’s own breed but each and every dog also has it’s own personality. It’s amazing how, for example, two different spaniels can be. You know your own dog, and it is the responsibility of the owner to deal, train and cope with a dog that doesn’t like other dogs or who doesn’t like men etc etc or any other behavioral problem, just as we do with our children. At the end of the day, if you give a dog love, companionship, boundaries, food, and exercise, the dog is a happy dog 🙂
Exactly, Jacqueline, after all we are supposed to be smarter, arent we?! Thank you for your insightful comment , my dear. I hope your lovely Stella is doing well!! 🙂
Thank you Marina, Stella’s being a little mischievous so she’s feeling much more herself. Now we have to hope and we have loads of that! 🙂 x
Great!!!!! 🙂 xx
If a dog is vicious then it is the fault of humans through breeding, training and neglect.
Thank you, Danny…

Of course… They kill young children and attack anybody on street and you want us to love them? Come on! My choice is : Humans before animals…
😉
“If you have men who will exclude any of God’s creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men”. ~St. Francis of Assisi
This is exactly due to this kind of thoughts that I am not Christian.
“When a man has pity on all living creatures then only is he noble.”
–Buddha
As I said before, my choice stop, in this case, for a creature that we call human… So when I see other creatures attacking human, my first instinct is to defend him/her at all costs.
In this case precisely, we’re talking about a dog that repetitively attack and injure and/or kill human. This isn’t acceptable.
😉
I love this quote and believe in it! Thanks Marina.
Remarkable words… I do too, dear Dilip. Thank you. 🙂
