It’s the time of the year that we get our hour back*
Time to set our clocks back to …normal! [some already have]
* Well, some countries actually go forward!* Daylight saving time (DST)—also summer time in British English— is the practice of advancing clocks during the lighter months so that evenings have more daylight and mornings have less. Typically clocks are adjusted forward one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn.

To me this is -obviously- a favorable change and I enjoy designing wall clocks to celebrate it.
So here’s the outcome!

Very cool watercolor artwork on your clocks, dear Marina ~ have a great day, my friend 🙏😊
Thank you so much, Phil! So glad you liked it! Jave a beautiful Thursday, my friend. 🙏☀️
Over the rainbow!
Ninni
I am too with your words! 🙂
When silence is punctuated by the sound of words and the ticking of a clock, the thoughts fly away.
A thought, a dedication that remains inside the heart of a rainbow, tired, depicts the time clock with the sweetness of existence.
All of this is you, Marina.
Your sweetness punctuated by the ticking of a clock that sleeps in the arms of the rainbow … created by you, from your heart and from your eyes.
One kiss, my dear friend.
Ninni
Ah, my dear Ninni… your words always find their way straight to the heart. I was so happy DST was gone, had to do something about it! By the way, I find the ticking of a clock so beautifully mesmerizing!
Thank you, my kind friend.
Have a wonderful new week and -as of now- a new month! A hug from me. 🙂
Awesome painted clocks Marina-
Watercolour or gouche??
Watercolour. I’m so happy you like them, John! Thank you very much! 🙂
Love It Marina!!
Thank you so much, Reno! 🙂
Love It Marina!!
West coast Canada time change coming up this weekend – always has meant the beginning of winter to me and not welcome – now your lovely visual interpretation has given me a more positive view…
I’m not a winter person either but I enjoy working when the sun is down and getting up early with the earlier sunrise. A more positive view… thank you, John!
Ah! If I had my wish, it would always be Marina Time, and every moment of the day and night would be suffused with her lovely work and the obvious beauty of her soul…
Uh… do you think I’m asking too much here??
What beautiful clocks– they create a kind of biosphere filled with peace and tranquility. A “timely” vision, as the watch said to the sundial…
I liked how you banished DST with an imperious “Gone!”, my dear Marina, and your Vincent Price laugh gave me the most delightful chills… : )
Ha ha, ‘Marina Time’!!! In my attempts to cope with the phenomenon of time, I did these! I leave the clock hands free to be placed at will by the user. For example, when I set the clock, I turn the other way so that I’m never sure of the right time! That’s the ‘Marina Time’ !!! and here’s an encore of Vincent’s laugh: A ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa!!!! 🙂
As for that dreadful DST, somebody had to show it the way…OUT! 🙂
Thank you my most generous and kind friend! I always look forward to your ingenious reactions! 🙂
Very creative! I love how you incorporated the lovely sunset seascape in the clock design. Just beautiful!
🙂
So happy to hear that, my dear FM! I hope things are going better at home… 🙂
Loved this painting, Marina! I want one of these clocks sooo much! Maybe next year I will get the chance to be able to buy one 🙂
That’s what I keep telling myself too!! 🙂 Thanks so much, Ken. The thought means a lot to me!! 🙂
What a beautiful clock, Marina. The colours are amazing. 🙂
Ah, thank you Sylvia! 🙂 Happy weekend!
AAAhhhh … I see you have gotten your hour back. I was reading these backwards.
I like the way you did these. The colors beg attention. Very nice …. xox
No, you read correctly… it’s my fault by writing GONE in the title. It’s a kind of witchcraft where you repeat your wish as if it’s already fulfilled! 😆 The hour actually changes this Sunday and I am probably an exception. Most people love DST. I just feel better the rest of the year! So glad you like it! xxx
hahaha … kind of witchcraft ???? You do know Halloween is coming up shortly???!!!!
I am off when we DST. I never seem to adjust. I’m glad to see that it affects others. ~~~ : – )
🙂 I know Halloween’s near… 😉 Ha ha ha ha haaaaaa, a bit of a Vincent Price, laughter there!!!! 😆
What an eerie laugh he had. ~~~~ : = )
You are so special, Marina. Just beautiful.
Ah, Noeleen, you are special, my dear! Thank you for all your kindness!!! 🙂
dear Marina, so long as i have your art to behold, there will always be enough daylight. xo tony
Awww, that compliment is enough to get me going for long time!! Thank you, Tony!
Great design 🙂
Thank you, Swati! 🙂
Gorgeous Marina! Love the differentiation between North & South. We almost missed a flight in Brazil, the day the clock was turned back! 🙂
I often wonder what happens in situations like that, eg at the airport! Thank you, my dear Madhu! 🙂
a beautiful reminder Marina – dreading the short, dark days
Oh, and here sm I bragging about how great it is to move back to normal time! I guess I like night time more. Thank you, Laura.
That’s amazing, Marina! Beautiful indeed!
Thank you so much, my dear Aina!! 🙂
I love those clocks. The colors are awesome, and the design is great. In Arizona we don’t go on Daylight Savings Time which makes things a lot easier – until we travel to other states and have to figure out what time it is.
That’s so nice. Everytime the clocks change to DST I feel that it takes weeks for me to adjust! Maybe I’m more of a night person. 🙂 I’m glad you like them, Bongo!
Awesome and beautiful daylight saving times paintings! 🙂
Thank you very much for your visit and kind comment. 🙂
This is lovely Marina…:-)
Thank you, dear Sriram! 🙂
I hate keeping track of time, but this clock would be a joy to watch!
Me too! That’s why I had to find a way to disguise it! 😉 Thank you, Elena!
I love these clocks they are beautiful xxx
I’m very happy to hear that! Thank you!!! 🙂
Lovely liked it! 🙂 Marina
Thank you, Dilip! 🙂
Love this series Marina! Beautiful work with those soft colors.
Thank you, Mary. I’m really happy you like it! 🙂
Now this is terrific, and caught my eye straight away… I love it…. That Hour will make the nights draw in ever faster. But to be honest its been quite dimly lit here all week with constant rain… none stop…
Enjoy your Tuesday Marina.. sending you some Smiles 🙂
Sue
Ah, maybe we sent you that cloud! It was like that last week here and now it’s sunny, so I’ll make a special request that it visits you too, soon! Thank you, my dear Sue! Lots of sunny smiles from me too! 🙂 xx
Yesterday the Sun came out ALL Day.So thank you for your gift 🙂 May you enjoy your weekend Marina. And I get to have an extra Hour in Bed on Sunday before work yipeeeee! 🙂
Ah, it worked!!!!! 🙂 See, we are connected!! 🙂
Enjoy a beautifully relaxing, refreshing and peaceful break, my dear Sue!
PS I’m also looking forward to the extra bed hour!
Gorgeous Marina. It definitely has that “wake up to a beautiful day” feel.
That is exactly what I would wish it had… thank you so much, my dear Donna! 🙂
Love the shades of orange.
We’ll get our hour back on Sunday.
Thank you, Leo!! 🙂
Yes, we do too, that’s why I’m celebrating the full week before!!! 😆
Marina,
I’m still too poor to buy any of your lovely art work, Sounds crazy, but the US Dollar is way down and with no hope of ever recovering in my life time. It enables the US to sell stuff to China, at least that’s what they tell us.
I love your work, and Yes, I remembered Daylight Saving Time and thought of it just as you stated.
I’m sending lots of good thoughts to you and your parents.
Love, Katarina
All good thoughts received and sent back tenfold, my dear Katarina.
I know what you’re saying…
Thank you, so so much!
Shall write soon!! 🙂
Beautiful colours. I love this design!
Thank you, Meanderer, I’m happy to hear that! 🙂
Lovely mix of colours Marina – our clocks go back the end of the month
Yep, our too, but as you see, I can’t wait ! 😉
Thank you, Jim!
Wonderful, very very wonderful 🙂 Orofiorentino
Thank you, Orofiorentino, very very much!!! 🙂
Your division into hemispheres makes one think that mid-day times, or mid-night times are different from the bottom half. And they are, aren’t they? Now you have me so busy thinking, I’ll forget to change my clocks again.
No you won’t! I’ll make sure to remind you!!!! 😉
It is funny that, isn’t it, with the hour hemispheres?!!
Have a great rest of the week. Hump day is up! 🙂
Thanks for the reminder. I always forget when it is and this causes havoc when I try to ring family back in the UK, they are usually still asleep! Lovely colours on the clocks, I’m am orange and turquoise fan. 🙂
I’m happy you like that combination! This change is so pleasant to me that I never forget!! Still, it would be nice if the hour changed same day in all countries! As I read, some change end of September, others beginning of October, others -like us- last Sunday of October, some go back and some go forward and some never change! Phew! Anyway, hope now you will remember! 😉
Actually, I thought it DID change on the same day in every country so I’ve learned something new there. In Singapore we stay the same (thank goodness)!
oh, lucky!!!!!
Nice image~
Thank you!
Have a happy day~ marina
And you too!! 🙂
Marina, beautiful coordination of colors, bright mid day lovely orange surrendered with the blue sky, the dusk and the night you choose sensational blue .Marina this is a master piece clock. Warm wishes.jalal
Jalal, I am so very very flattered!! Thank you so much! 🙂
Have a great new week! Warm wishes from me too 🙂
Oh, Marina – how beautifully elegant!!! Bravo!!! ~xoxo!
I’m so glad you find it elegant, Patricia!! Thank you so much! Bravo to you too for your beautiful new collection!! 🙂 xxxxx
No pun intended, but very timely post. And for whatever reason, the US starts DST earlier and ends it later. … but I adore shades of blue with shades of orange!
Ours is coming Sunday 27 and I can’t wait. All throughout DST I feel somebody abducted my hour! 😆
Glad you like those shades, Frank! 🙂
And getting the extra hour on the fall transition is wonderful!
🙂
So simple yet so beautiful. Amazing job!
I like turning the clocks back, means it’s nearly Christmas! 🙂
Thank you very much, Steven!! 🙂
It also means we are given back the ‘stolen’ hour!!! 🙂
This is a seriously beautiful clock, Marina … I think it your best of all the beauties you have created.
Awww, Thank you so much Viveka… I am so happy you like it!! 🙂 xx
So beautiful…
Thank you, Arlen!! 🙂
