I’m so happy to hear that!1 Thank you, Noeleen! 🙂 🙂
Love your style and manner of expressing your subject. So recognizable as Marina Kanavaki’s beautiful, somewhat abstract creations, no matter what colours with which you happen to be working.
Oh, Jean-Jacques, what a wonderful thing to say! Humbled and very very flattered! Thank you so much! 🙂

“To know the whole world is nothing when it is compared to knowing your own inner mystery of life.”
(From the water color by Marina Kanavaki, “Take notes”)
Cordialità, my sweet friend
Ninni
Remarkable and very true words, my dear Ninni and I am deeply touched to have inspired them, even to the slightest! Thank you, from my heart.
Cordialità. 🙂
Hi Marina! 🙂 WOW! I love this – very cool and very excellent work! 🙂
On a different note: I was doing some reading on modern day Sparta. From the pictures I’ve seen, it is quite the beautiful little city. I’m surprised that the population figures I read about, are really very small compared to a lot of ancient cities. Have you been to Sparta, I think I saw that it is also refered to as “Sparti”? It is added to my bucket-list, which I hope can be fulfilled some day. I was a History major in under-grad school, so I kind of like all that “History Stuff” – 🙂 Wishing you a great creative day!
Hi, Nawfal and thank you!! 🙂
Sparti is part of a larger area in the Peloponese, called Laconia and there are really beautiful places to visit, like Mystras for example. Yes, I have been there. Greece has an amazing variety of landscapes with great contrasts. From the mount Olympus (for very experienced climbers), to secluded tropical beaches… I know you’d have a great time artistically here! 🙂
Awesome! Thanks! For History and Photography – I know it would be fantastic – 🙂
🙂
Today is Thanksgiving for us in the US, but blogging makes me thankful for many things global. 🙂 …. and a musical treat for the day. http://youtu.be/fYi9Vr8bHJY
That is such a beautiful musical treat, Frank!!! Thank you very much my friend, it made my day! 🙂
That’s quite the celebrity duo.
Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:
THIS IS BEAUTIFUL…KIND OF LIKE AN ANCIENT MAP!!
The writing is so expressive…I could never write like that (that’s why I love the word processing of a computer)! Beautifully colored, too. Are you sure I can’t reblog this, giving you credit all the way? 🙂
Jonathan, thank you so much. Yes, you may reblog. Would be my pleasure. The type you see however is a manuscript (fake most likely) and free download (copyright free too) I used to make a featured image for my post titled “take notes” based on my The Woods II” watercolor. Thank you for your kind words! 🙂
THANK YOU, THANK YOU…AND FOR LOOKING IN ON MY BLOG, TOO! 🙂
My pleasure!!!! Thank YOU!! 🙂
Beautiful mysterious and beautiful!
Oh, that is so nice!!! Thank you so much! 🙂

Thank you, Valentine! 🙂
Just wanted to let you know I received my picture in the mail today, it is better in hand than on the internet. I cannot wait to take it over to Michaels and have it framed! I have just the spot in my home for it. I will take a picture of it hung when I am done. Just wonderful.
Awwwwww, Valentine you can’t imagine how happy this makes me! I am so glad you are pleased with it and my only wish now is that it always brings you happy thoughts! Thank you ever so much! 🙂
Just beautiful and a mysterious script as well!
I am sworn to secrecy. Something about ginger… that’s all I can say! 😉

🙂
Love it!
Thanks, David!! 🙂
I really love the art with the script. I too was wondering the language. I saw your answer to Rosa.
All I found out is that it was from an ancient manuscript. Not very informative really … (was a copyright free and free download image) but I can recognize greek characters and maybe words. It is probably an imitation of an ancient text. Thank you, Donna. Take care out in the snow and happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
Thank you Marina. I hope you have a wonderful weekend coming up. I am posting my Thanksgiving menu this weekend for those of you that don’t have our holiday. I think you did a brilliant job with your art and the text. It is pretty amazing that is ancient text and looks so at home on your work. It makes such a pleasing composition. I bet others think as I do and you should do a series like this.
You are giving me ideas now!!!! 🙂 Can’t wait for the menu! 🙂
Magnificent !!!
Thank you, Julie! 🙂
Look great, but a bit to femine for me. 😉 … PS … I received the download … thanks .. haven’t listened yet as time is quite demanding these days. Yiamas!
😆 Thank you, Frank! Great… and yes, I am aware of that and wishing you all the best! Yamas and happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
😀
Fabulous. The lettering is so sensitive and elegant.
Thank you very much! ! 🙂
magenta is fabulous fuchsia but the cutout looking text is just gorgeous Marina.
Thank you, my dear Laura!! I’m very glad you like it!! 🙂 Happy you’re back and no more ‘sealed off’ (mind you, that was a brilliant post!) 🙂
A fabulous piece Marina! The color is ever so engaging, and with the calligraphy, one of my all time favorites!
Oh, that’s so nice to hear from you, Elena!! Thank you so much!! 🙂 Your ‘Blood & Vapor’ are… out of this world!
Great Marina, such a beautiful design for the surfaces showing. Creativity is fantastic!
Mary, thank you so much!! …and you know all about creativity!!! Beautiful snow scene! 🙂
Thank you Marina!
Wow, beautiful! I love the handwriting, the colors and how it all blends nicely together. I also like how the first image gives me an impression of an ancient look and feel, as if the writing was done on parchment!
Fabulous, dear Marina! 🙂
So happy you like it, my dear FM! The writing is actually taken from an old manuscript… but I haven’t discovered whose or in what language either. I will though! 🙂
So exotic!
Oh, thank you, Russ! 🙂
Ohhhhhhh, I LOVE how you added the handwriting, Marina! Beautiful!!!
Thank you, my dear Patricia! I know your fondness to calligraphy and handwriting!! 🙂 xxxx
Beautiful rich colors – and I love it with the calligraphy on it.
Ah, Bongo, I’m so glad you like it!! 🙂 I think I saw a word that sounds like …fish!!! 😉
Woo woo!
Very nice look. What language is that?
Thank you, Stephen! Not sure. I’m in the process of decoding it!! 😉
Ooooh, magenta, magic magenta and mysterious notes…. Love it, Marina, well done!! Which language is it? Un abrazo!!
Ah, thank you, Rosa!! It’s a mysterious manuscript which resembles greek writing but I am not sure. Muchos abrazos!!!!! 🙂 xx
Hypnotic
Thank you, Alex! 🙂
