however it doesn’t
and because the internet will be off for a while
I am taking a break for a couple of weeks.
I look forward to seeing what you’ve all been up to
as soon as we are settled in our new home.
Until then,
be well, my friends
…and smile!

Somebody has said that moving is the most traumatized experience we can have after our birth, I believe them. You’re back in the air … so you have survived and welcome back to us.
Whoever said that knows well!!! Unless one can afford a moving company who will do EVERYTHING, this is an experience for strong nervous systems! 😉
PS yep, I obviously survived – well, with maybe a few pieces missing!
I don’t envy you your move. From 1973-1977 I moved every six months. From 1977 to 1993, I moved about every two years. Finally I seem to have settled down. I’ve been here for six years!
Ohhhh, I’m glad to hear you are settled – you’ve obviously had more than your share of moves!!! They are nerve and energy wreckers!
True, Marina. Moves are messy!! They are never tidy. That’s a myth all right. Keep at it. Best wishes for your new home!
Thank you, my dear Amy and I’m sending you my best wishes for your beautiful new virtual home!!! 🙂
My husband used to be in a transferable job and we had to move house every two years or so. Hated it! Hope you are all settled in by now. Wishing you much happiness and many reasons to celebrate in your new home Marina 🙂
2 years?! That means that as soon as you would be starting to ‘feel at home’, you’d be moving! I understand how you could hate it! From the past tense I gather that you’re not doing that anymore. Thank you for your lovely wishes, my dear! 🙂
Well settled in our own home now thankfully. Have discarded all my boxes 🙂
Cute cute puppy…
Ah, yes she is… well, maybe not a puppy [10yrs old!] 🙂
Reblogged this on By the Mighty Mumford and commented:
THE POOR PUPPY!!!!! NEARLY BURIED!!!! THE ARTWORK TELLS IT ALL…BOXED IN BY BOXES (IN YOUR DREAMS FOR MONTHS)!
Twenty-two days and counting.
Has Marina fallen prey to a carton avalanche? Is she buried under a pile of boxes?
Stay tuned, fellow followers of the (Marina Kanavaki) Way. Your dark night of the soul will end soon as she surely must return.
Till then. Be creative in her stead.
My dear friend, I did fall prey to a carton avalanche and I was buried under piles of boxes – but now I am risen!!!
…kind of anyway. It will take some time to put all the marina pieces back together!
I hadn’t realized how many days it’s been…
I am so glad to see you. I hope all is well with you.
Happy New January Moon! 🙂
And Happy Year of the Horse to you!
…and to you!!!
Become the cause of all things in your life and you would be surprised with the clarity and orderliness you would achieve.
Shakti
Beautiful and wisely said- thank you, Shakti!! 🙂
Wow…:-) Once gain you never miss surprising people 🙂
🙂
Hope you have survive the move my dear Marina! Good luck and best wishes!
Looking forward to see you soooooooonnnnnn! ❤️❤️❤️
xxxxx

Yes, we have, my dear Jalal. Thank you so much for your beautiful wishes! Much happiness and good fortune to you too for this year! 🙂
Good luck, thinking of you! Happy vibes, Anne
Thank you, my dear Anne – I know you know well! Happy happy vibes back to you too [and the little you!] 🙂 xx
Thank you 🙂 love and hugs
xxxxxxxx!!!
The hardest thing to pack is always the dog… : )
Hope you survived the move, dear Marina!!
P.S. Does the new apartment have a swimming pool? : )
Dog is in one piece!!! We, however look like warriors who made it from the battlefield! Oh, but of course, we have an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and one specially designed for our dog! I wonder though whether an Olympic sized pool will satisfy her… Oh, well – we can always move to a new home! 😆
Survived as you can see and very happy to see you! 🙂
I hope all goes smoothly! See you soon.
Hiii!! Thank you, Clowie! I’m back! 🙂
All the best Marina! 🙂
Thank you, my dear Nandini! 🙂
I just wanted to give you a heads up I’m throwing a HUGE thank you your way! A blog post will be up soon. You’ve inspired an idea for an image and I’ve been seeking it for a long time. Today, I found it:):) Thank you again and happy moving, it’s not all that fun! haha. Eric
Ah, a huge thank you back, my dear friend!!!!
I’m finally back, well, not full force yet. This move has been a very long and tiring one… It’s not all fun, true! 😉
Remember not to walk around in the new place with the lights off for at least six weeks. Your toes will thank you, and possibly your nose. Good luck!
Ah – don’t I know!!!! Another good advice I’d add is always ALWAYS leave important things at the very same spot. I’ve lost count of the miles we’ve walked in the house while searching for things! 😉 Thank you!! 🙂
I’ve been in my house for 10 years, and I still have to go by that rule (at least 30% of the time).
😆 !!!!
Will look forward to your return!! Hope everything goes quickly and smoothly for you!
Thank you, Sherry! I am back at last! Happy to ‘see’ you! 🙂
Hope it ends quickly and painlessly, without much fuss and with joy. And of course staying in your new place for many many years!
Ah, great wishes, Vassili, thank you! Alas it was neither painless nor quick but for our sake I sincerely hope it is for many years!!! [long enough to forget this one, that is!] 🙂
Yeap, I know how it feels. I had moved 4 times in the last 20 years and each time was worse, especially because we never moved in a house of our own. Maybe because we grew older or maybe because we have more baggage each time. But glad you are back and this is over!
yep, exactly right!!! Always rented and always with more stuff – we never learn, do we?!!! As you say – glad it’s over! 😉

Finally settled but will need many days to recover!
Thank you very much for the nomination! 🙂
Happy move! See you soon!
Thank you!!! See you sooooon!!! 🙂
Hope your move goes without a hitch, Marina. *hugs*
Oh, I hope so too, Sylvia! Thank you!!! xxxxxx + hugs! 🙂
Good luck with the move and burn some sage in the new place to remove any negativity that may linger. Hugs, Barbara
I know I know!!! I’ve already gotten myself plenty of sage [and salt!]
Thank you, my dear Barbara!
Hugs back! 🙂
All the best with the move, honey!!
Ah, thank you, Christy!!! xxxxxx
At least it looks like your canine friend is chillaxing. All the best with the move!
😆 I really admire her ease in any situation!! There may be drills – boxes piling up next to her and she’ll still find a way to relax! I think that because of her, this move is much ‘lighter’! 😉 Thank you Graham! 🙂
Have a great move, Marina!
Thanks, Richard! 🙂 🙂
good luck, I’ll be at the airport waiting for the call… and ticket.. nothing you can’t handle.. don’t forget the deep breathe exercises.. ha ha have fun x 🙂
yes yes the deep breathe exercises… I seem to be forgetting it!!!! Thank you, my friend! You too have fun!!! 🙂
I thought you told me you are moving house… 🙂 hope it all goes smooth x
Hope your move is going smoothly! See you soon! 🙂
Thank you, Jess!!! See you, my dear! 🙂
Awwww I love moving! (no I don’t…) I love new beginnings though, turn your new house into a loving home! 🙂
P.S. Is that your dog??????? Φάτσααααα! 😀
First thing’s first: Χρόνια Πολλά, Ιωάννα μου!!!! 🙂
I also love new beginnings and it’s a good opportunity [albeit tiring!!!] to get rid of old burdens!
As for the dog… yes, she’s our princess. Αυτό το ζώο αδυνατεί να μην πάρει μία ποζα…!!!!
Best wishes in with your move and in your new home!!! Will be here when you return. Will miss your beautiful posts and comments ~
I’m missing yours already! Thank you so much, my dear Mary!!! 🙂
Be well too Marina 🙂
Thank you, Alex!!!! 🙂
Moving can be a big job. Hope yours goes well. Will miss you, but have a good time off. Will be waiting for your return.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
I am already missing not visiting! Thank you, my dear Francine. Yes, it is a multitask job and a hard one too but it’s a renewal as well. I can’t wait to come back! 🙂
Good luck with the move my friend … have wine ready for the unpacking work upon arrival.
Oh, unpacking and wine is elementary. No other way to do it!!! 🙂 Thank you, my dear Frank!!!! 🙂
Good luck!
🙂
Happy home moving Marina. Excitement amidst turbulence – bet you can paint that!
😆 Right now, I look like a dazed cartoon character with swirling eyes and birds and stars flying above my head!!! 🙄 Thank you, my dear Laura!
Wishing you peace and joy every single day in your new home. Fond regards dear Marina 🙂
Ah, how beautiful my dear Dilip! I wish the same to you, my dear friend. My warmest regards! 🙂
All the very best, Marina. I hope you settle in really quickly!
Ah, I wish so too… In fact “Beam me up Scotty! 😆
Thank you, Meanderer! 🙂
New Days, New Ways, exciting, exhausting, extraordinarily exhilarating…i love that special moment of standing in the fresh emptiness of a new home, before anything is set up and arranged, knowing it will never be like that again…all luck on the move and blessings on your new home my friend…
Good point, my friend and in perfect timing too! I’m just in time to appreciate the ‘fresh emptiness’, before this home starts accommodating our things. With all the concerns of taking measures and seeing whether everything fits and where this precious moment eluded me! Thank you for this and for your beautiful wishes! 🙂
Oh yeah. Didn’t you know that happens to everybody else when they move. But not you I guess. Good luck. Best >KB
I knew I knew – I’ve been there quite a few times in my life but somehow even with all the experience and ‘perfect’ planning, things end up taking over!!! [literally!] 🙂 Thank you, KB!
Your move might just be like my having a new kitchen: emptied old cupboards before they were torn down, up went the new and – almost half of the stuff from old cupboards still sits in boxes under the house as non-essential items 😀 I reckon we don’t know what we have until we start moving… have fun!
Oh, indeed! And with the years they just pile up… It’s a good opportunity though to make some really disappear, as in throw away!!! 🙂 Thank you Ina! 🙂
XX
Enjoy your time away. Good luck.
Thank you! 🙂
Marina, happy unpacking and settling in! It’s a daunting task, I know, and I wish you all the very best! (A sense of humor helps too… 🙂 ~xo!!!
Marina – (anonymous is Patricia) – I don’t know why it came up that way (maybe I wasn’t property logged in?) Anyway – best wishes from your friend, Patricia ~xxx
Daunting is a well picked word indeed!!! Thank you, my dear dear friend! Yes, without humor it’s an impossible task! I’m sure that one day we’ll be able to do these things simply by the power of our thoughts but I doubt this will happen in the next few weeks!!! much love 😉 xxxxxx
a good move and its needed energy . To which town or region are you moving , if I may ask ?
Indeed!!! In the same region, only 10mins away [north Athens] Thank you, Bart!! 🙂
Best of luck with the move, Marina. RH
Thank you, RH!!!! Luck much needed indeed! 🙂
Good luck with your move, Marina, and wishing you all the best in your new home 🙂
Thank you very much, Sue for your [much needed] wishes!! 🙂
It’ll be hard to wait for a couple weeks. Good luck with your move. And don’t forget the fish!
Oh, for me too, sweet Bongo! I will try to sneak a peak whenever I get a few moments… Fish are on ‘auto-pilot’ – along with my hugs! :-0
All the very best to you Marina on your new home. I hope all your dreams come true within and outside those walls. Take care and enjoy!
Ah, Donna, what a wish!! Thank you so much! I wish the same for you, my dear, from my heart 🙂
Ah moving, never one of the most pleasant experiences in life. Hope it all goes well, and enjoy the well-earned rest. Happy New Year Marina.
Happy New Year, Rudolf! Yes, indeed it is not a pleasant experience and no matter how many time one has lived it, it doesn’t get any better either!!! Thank you so much for your wishes! 🙂
Good luck! Looks forward to see you again:)
Me too!!! Thank you for the luck …much needed! 🙂
Hope all goes well and that you can keep smiling too! Cheers
Thank you, my dear! Yes I will certainly try!!! 🙂
I hope your move goes smoothly and well, Marina. 🙂
Thank you, Robin! Yes, ‘smoothly and well’!!! we hope so too!!! 🙂
Hahaha, I am into the same thing… Boxing days. 😉
Ohhhh… if only we could be ‘beamed’ to our new house [together with our boxes!!!] …wouldn’t that be nice?! 😆
Good luck, my dear Rosa! 🙂
Wish you luck!
Ah, much needed! Thank you Ritika!! 🙂
Have a safe and good change Marina. Awaiting your comeback to the blog space again. Best wishes and a very happy new year to you,
Soumya
Thank you, my dear Soumya for your kind wishes! A very Happy New Year to you too and I also look forward to coming back! 🙂
Be well
I will try!! Thank you and you too!!!
Have a good and hopefully uneventful move! see you when you get back 🙂
Ah, yes, indeed ‘uneventful’ – a very rare thing! Thank you so much, Andy!! 🙂
Cheers! 🙂
Good Luck Marina 🙂
Thank you!!! 🙂 [needed!!]
Huge hug my lovely friend!! don’t forget to breathe in the midst of change… xoxo, alexandra
I know I know, and truth is I do forget and it’s elementary!!!! Thank you for the hugs, Alexandra and here are some hugs from me too!! 🙂 xxxx
You even make a move look creative and fun…which we know the truth it is NOT♥
Indeed Laurie, it is not!! [you obviously know first hand!]
However, whenever we look at our lovely companion [picture above], who has the ability to rest and sleep peacefully in the most awkward spaces [for example in a little gap between boxes!], we learn to be more tolerant! 🙂
So exciting – hope it goes smoothly and fingers crossed that the weather is better than it is here!
Steve
Keep safe and warm!
Thank you, Stephen! So far our weather has been okay [minus the dump and foggy nights]
🙂
Best wishes for your move
Thank you, Andrew! Your wishes are greatly appreciated [and needed!] 🙂
