back with a new moon!

January New Moon©Marina Kanavaki

After a very long and exhausting move, we are finally settled into our new home.
I did ‘fall prey to a carton avalanche’ as my friend ‘August Meditations’ feared 🙄
but made it in one piece and gradually trying to get back to a ‘normal’ routine.

Happy New Moon of January

to everyone!

  1. Amazing and unspeakable thoughts about 1950s movie posters in internet after watching this picture of yours, which have this kind of colour tones..

  2. This is powerful too … the black moon .. with the blue. Beautiful, Marina – we all love the moon … for some reason. I think we should let it be … don’t disturb it with more visits.

    • Thank you, my dear Francina! Deze verhuizing naar een nieuw huis heeft al mijn energie uitgelekt! [I’m very curious as to how it translated – I feel it must sound funny!]
Heeft u een mooie vrijdag en weekend!! Groetjes
      🙂 xxxx

  3. The New Moon represents perfect symbolism!! Why?? Because it reminds us all of the gaping hole in our lives when dear, dear Marina Kanavaki’s not around!! So glad you’re back, order has been restored to the universe… : )

A carton avalanche?? Oh, dear– hope it didn’t, um, box your ears!! : )

    • 😆 Ah -ha… the ears survived – alas many other parts [brain for example] have suffered severe injuries! All in for a major restoration at the moment! Will be good as new soon!
      Happy Wednesday evening, Mark! 🙂

  4. Dear Marina, glad you arrived in one piece.. I know how traumatic a house move can be.. So good to see you back.. And can I just say a BIG thank you too for your wonderful heartfelt comment upon my own post.. Love and Gratitude sent your way.. And I hope your unpacking will soon be over and you will find yourself more settled.. Hugs again.. Sue xox

    • It’s good to see you too, my dear Sue and no need for ‘thank you’… as I said, I know exactly how precious these silent breaks are and I am truly happy for you [loved your paintings by the way!]
Love and hugs back and lots of xxxxxx!! 🙂

  5. Hello. Just a quick thank you for reading my blog…..I am spending time reading yours and thoroughly enjoying your posts….Keep up the good work!

  6. I’m a little late to the party but it’s great to see you back, Marina! 🙂 I hope you are settling into your new place.

  7. marina! te kanis? kala? been a long, long time since we chatted…i think i last talkd to u round about 2 weeks bfore xmas…u were moving at that time…glad ur all settled down now…till the next move..LOL!
chatting aside, i just luv that first painting of urs here..the one with the moon etc….such simplicity, such depth of feeling..u are a truly remarkable lady…very lucky man is ur partner.!

    • 2 weeks before xmas… that sounds like a long long time – yet it feels like yesterday. Back then we were on a packing frenzy. After the January 19th [day we moved in] we’ve been on an unpacking frenzy! During this time I have learned this one lesson -the very hard way unfortunately: things that you can’t see or have access to easily and forget, THROW THEM AWAY! Also, never keep things you think that one day you may use!!! I don’t think I’ve ever hated ‘things’ in my life so much!
Sorry about this little outburst but it’s been such an exhausting [nearly] 3 months…
Thank you, my friend. I’m so glad you like it. It was my first attempt to get back! On that last note: Blushing! I’m also very lucky! 😉
How are you? Back from the UK?

  8. Happy new home ,my dear Marina!
    Glad to have you back❤️
Looking forward to see more your works😃❤️❤️❤️

    • Ah, my dear Isadora… it’s been some time, hasn’t it?! I’m so happy to see you and yes, you are right, we do get attached to our blog friends! 🙂
Thank you! …and a very happy loving February to you and Wednesday evening! 🙂 xxxx

  10. “After a very long and exhausting move gradually trying to get back to a ‘normal’ routine”:
And you know, Marina, after every black moon night there will be a sunrise again …

  11. Wow, I love the colors and shade – so delicate … and this gives me a chill of a crispy winter late afternoon, when the moon comes out. This went to top of your art.

    • Hi, Sylvia. Great to see you and happy to be back. As soon as we get a little rest we will start enjoying it a bit more! Glad you like the new moon and a happy new month too!!! 🙂

  12. Welcome back! Your absence has been keenly felt.

And Happy Chinese New Year, the Year of the Horse.

People born in this year are cheerful, perceptive and talented. Certainly sounds like you!

  13. Thank you Marina for the happy new moon. Congratulations on the new place, may it be every thing that the both of you hoped for. With my blessing and best wishes, Michael 🙂

  14. Welcome back, Marina! It’s good to see you! I love your new moon art – it’s very fresh. Congratulations on your new home! I am sure it is the perfect place to express your creativity! ~xxxxx

  15. New moon’s always inspiring. It slowly conquers the darker side day by day. We moved couple of years back & still have few boxes unopened!! One way it helps assort your junk out

  16. Hooray … you are back! Congrats on accomplishing the move. The moon is a peaceful transition back into this world.

To catch you up on me … We’ve been getting blasted with abnormally bitter cold … but it looks like we’ve turned the corner. We accepted an offer for our house after being on the market for about 5 days! Closing and the move is still 6 weeks away, so packing has begun.

    • So happy to see you, Frank!
That’s great news on the house! I am trying to think of advice to give you for the move…organization is the main thing and grouping similar things [either by type or room where they will be placed] accompanied [always] with multivitamins or energy boosters and …a good wine!
      I agree about the moon.
      Happy February, my dear friend!
      🙂

  17. Lovely to see you again Marina and congratulations on your new home. It does take some time getting settled, doesn’t it? So happy you greet us with a beautiful moon painting –

Happy to hear your thoughts
