Forest #4… it’s not in the Woodland Guide Book. No, friends, it dwells in another dimension altogether… the Kanavaki Dimension, where brushstrokes and color reach out and pull the viewer into a vortex of sensory thrills and cascading emotion!!
What an experience a Kanavaki painting is!! I always emerge with my shirt untucked, and my hair mussed up, and my socks and shoes missing, but it’s worth it– and I can’t wait to go back!!!
I think this one is your best yet, my dear Marina– it simply pulses with color and energy! Totally mesmerizing– my eyes are glazed over like donuts, my ears are buzzing like bees, and my knees are knocking together like tin cans at a recycling center. In other words, I’m a happy man… : )
A-ha-ha, the Kanavaki Dimension sounds about right!!!! My dear Mark, how you manage to send me flying each and every time you write something about my work, is beyond me! Not for the praise so much [responsible for the red circles on my face!] as for the wonderfully inventive word collaboration / composition, only you can achieve!

I love it. I love looking at others digital artwork too and that’s a real talent within itself. I’ve tried my hand at digital and could probably get the hang of it eventually but like you said I can’t seem to keep my hands out of the paints.
Besides what would I do with all that hundreds of dollars of supplies…lol.
True that on the cost but even if they were free, I couldn’t resist their scent and the ‘fortunate mishaps’ you get with real paint. On a computer I have to keep fighting ‘perfection’. That’s one reason why I don’t use layers, to avoid correcting. No undos! 🙂

About automatic painting, it’s a kind of free drawing …quoting wikipedia: ‘Automatic drawing (distinguished from drawn expression of mediums) was developed by the surrealists, as a means of expressing the subconscious. In automatic drawing, the hand is allowed to move ‘randomly’ across the paper. In applying chance and accident to mark-making, drawing is to a large extent freed of rational control. Hence the drawing produced may be attributed in part to the subconscious and may reveal something of the psyche, which would otherwise be repressed.’ However don’t take it for granted. I hate labels! 😉
