topaz eleven

November
and what better date to post the eleventh month’s* painting, but the …eleventh!
November the eleventh!
Autumn turning gold and colder.
November’s flower is Chrysanthemum [and Peony]
and birthstone: Topaz [and citrine].
Yes, the color is yellow – gold.
Chrysanthemum stands for joy, compassion, friendship, and love. [here’s to a joyful, loving and compassionate month!]
Eleven [the number], is very important in numerology, as it is the first of the Master Numbers.

and for a little number trivia…

• The 11th moon of Jupiter is Himalia.
• 11 is the number of spacetime dimensions in M-theory.
• Apollo 11 was the first manned spacecraft to land on the Moon.
• 11 is the atomic number of the element sodium.
• November begins with the sun in the sign of Scorpio and ends in the sign of Sagittarius (in western astrology).

…yes, I knew you’d like to know! 😉

*The month’s name origin is from the Latin NOVEM meaning “nine” [Ninth month in the Roman calendar].

SO, here is…

“When the winter chrysanthemums go,
there’s nothing to write about
but radishes.”

Matsuo Bashō

Oh, and Happy New Moon!

  1. I love the vibrancy and contrast of colours. They speak to me in a very unique fashion. Ladies Prism is coming soon to romance the world. Scotian Breeze is the movement, and Treasure Words, Collect Figures is the company. History in the making; stay tuned.

  2. November
At times the sky pours a few drops,
    some small tear lost
and the horses shakes in clops

    on a sudden chill wost.
The colchicum in the most deserts
rests thoughtfully, and under the poplars long blurts
    arise, in silence damp, mushrooms,

    who always keep their umbrellas and warm cardamoms;
and gardens and vegetable gardens tacit
    born, almost crying, flowers extremes,
    chrysanthemums for our dead.

  3. Wonderful Marina. The music is very appealing. Nice sound and beat. I always love your beautiful art too. While in the EU, I noticed all the gold leaves on the trees. We were lucky to see the colorful leaves.

  4. I always think of 11 as the One That Becomes Two… an idea I see echoed in your evocative print / painting…November Gargoyle Yin Yang? and your music is always so mind blogingly trippy and cosmic…keep on flying your beautiful banners Marina, my ears and eyes say thank you…hey, my heart too..

    • I knew you’d be well informed [understatement grandioso!]!
      a. My humble apologies for the belated response
      b. agreed
      c. thank you, my dear friend
and here’s looking at 12 in hope for better days! 😉

  5. What a knockout, my friend! It’s a gem. The singing on that video, the whole video, and then the colours. Hats off to mk.o! A lucky number is the eleven, so may you have a happy 11th month!

    • Okay, I can safely say that I have been ‘dazed and confused’ and completely missed several comments! My dear Steve, thank you so much and here;s to a lucky and happy December [12 that is! …I’m already late for that too! 😉 ]

      • I’ve been off the blog for a while, computer problems. Yes, the 12th month is here. I thought that the eleven was not such a rich one but the 12 has dozens of associations. All the best, my friend!

        • I’ll agree with you on the 11th [and 10 & 9th for that matter]. Here’s to a …dozen good things for the 12th. [I haven’t been very blog active lately either] All the best to you! 🙂

  6. Great visuals of yours, Marina, to usher in the 11th month of the year. May these ones conjoin to create all your happiness for the festive season ahead…ciao…

  7. Awesome piece of art Marina. The composition works perfectly – I see figures in the edging. Neat and is great for November, love what Chrysanthemum stands for – it speaks of you. Have a wonderful day ~

    • Ah, so happy to hear that, Mary [even if it took me ages to… – for some reason I completely missed some of the comments – for this I apologize]
You are so sweet, my kind friend and say the nicest things. Thank you, Mary and I hope you are enjoying December.
ps I hope your break was for of a creative or recreational nature…

    • Colleen, I’m so sorry for taking so long to answer… I hadn’t seen it!
Thank you, my dear friend. This series [the months / numbers] are created digitally from parts of my original work of numbers. The media used is indian ink and oil paint on tissue paper [highly irregular but I wanted to use the texture of the paper].
A wonderful December to you!!! 🙂

    • I realize it is December now [and a happy one I hope it is for you] – but I just saw this!
Likewise, my friend… but I can’t help blushing and feeling very very flattered! Thank you, Robert…

  8. When you can combine words, paint and music… there you get the complete challenging need of the “oneself emotion” created from this trinity! Bravo Marina… a great hug in this month with is much too warm showing us the global warming in his terrible potential of distruction (since two night we had between 15°-13° temperture).
    Kisses :-)claudine

    • Thank you, my dear Claudine. I know how passionate and talented you are and your words mean so much! Yes, I wonder whether the earth’s course is irreversible. We had a big temperature drop last week [too cold] and two days now it is warm and sunny! love and hugs xxxxx 🙂

  9. WOW … You now I love text like this!!! … and I love the painting, too … Cheers to the combination!!! … and (of course) to hearing the music … again.

Happy to hear your thoughts
