There are many celebrations in May. To begin with, our Easter [Orthodox] this year was on May 1st, coinciding with Labour Day [May Day], hence I’ve been away for sometime [justifying my brief absence]. This time, however, I won’t add May trivia. For anyone curious, here’s a good source:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May

I would however wish to share with you
two poems
by a good friend
and kind soul with love
and only love in his heart:
Wendell A. Brown
This month’s illustration is dedicated to him.
A gift for his Birth month!  🙂
Thank you, my sweet friend.

Gratitude (God)

The color of the new days beginning
Sweeps the silence of the night away
While the nearby sea awakens me
With mystical harmonies which stay

For I hear the gratitude of Nature
As its blossoming life sings joyfully
And my heart gratefully embraces
What each life’s music sings to me

My heart unleashes great gratitude
As my mind views the beauty it sees
It seems they all rose and came alive
This lovely first day of May for me

Inside my heart this moment is saved
In the colors of Your love sent my way
I will treasure each new day I awaken
Knowing in my life Your love will stay.

Your Love

I see your love as I gaze
At the beautiful stars your
Hands create each night
I receive

Who but you alone could place
Those lights in heavenly skies
To shine eternally for all to see

As the darkness arrives they
 provide a radiance which
 Illuminates the skies causing
Our thoughts to pause

Because as one views the many
Stars in their alluring heavenly
Beauty many minds are left in awe

As I see your love present in your
Lasting creations, I find my love
For you within steadily grows…

As my heart and soul are inspired
Nightly when they embrace the peace
Of the truest love in life I know.

Enjoy a beautiful May

[for us living in the Northern hemisphere it’s Spring’s last month!]

About months & numbers: Back in September 2015, inspired by Bumba’s “The Numbers Game Is Here: Mathematics for DummiesThe Whole Nine Yards, I started working on images for each month. First month was September, so this series will be completed in August 2016!

  1. Emerald 5… that reminds me of some of my golf scores– too bad they were all on par 3’s… 😐

    And I’ve 5-putted a few emeralds, too– er, I mean greens… 😫

Maia… OK. That makes two goddesses I know now, whose names begin with ‘M’… 😊

Beautiful work, dazzling colors, striking composition! What else can I give this painting but 5 emeralds. Uh, pardon, I mean 5 stars… ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👽

I loved Mr. Brown’s odes to our Creator, especially his reflection on, well, the stars:

    As the darkness arrives they
    provide a radiance which
    Illuminates the skies causing
    Our thoughts to pause

Very similar to what happens to me when I view a Kanavaki…. 🎩😊🎩🍨🏆

Lovely work, my dear Marina!! 🚀☕️🍨🍨🍨🍨💥🚑👽👽👽😊

    • Awwwwwwwwwww, you leave me no alternative but to give you a 90º rotated 8, or simply an infinite great big smile and: 💐🌸🌼🌷🌹🌻🌺🌾🍰🍨🍧🍭🍬🍫🍩🍪🍸🍷🍸🍷🍦🍭💐 x ∞

  2. your post is a beautiful gift as we celebrate my daughter’s birthday this month! we adopted her from a Kenyan orphanage, where she was given the name “Lilly”. We chose to keep the name, changing the spelling to “Lily” and assuming the primary meaning of “life and resurrection.” She almost died at birth, born two months premature, and few people are as full of life as she is! I love how your post reflects much that is true about her!

    • How wonderful, Colleen! I love her name and its meaning. Here’s to your Lily and may her life and yours be filled with joy and love always! Much love and hugs 🙂

  3. Soothing syrupy words of love and gratitude filling our hearts soul with peaceful calm by Wendell A. Brown. The poems were an exceptional touch to your series of monthly images. 😍
Emeralds must have been calling me this month as I just purchased a pendant with emeralds in Cartagena, Columbia on our recent vacation. They mine them there. 😊
I’m enjoying your monthly artwork very much, Marina. The addition of the month’s information is a bonus.
As July approaches, I will be anticipating your fabulous interpretation for the month I traveled to earth. Have a Peaceful Day …!!! xo 🌺xo

  4. At last dearest Marina I am here.. lots of clicks, clearing and uninstalling and re-installing some programs but fingers crossed.. xxx Your page loaded 🙂
Loved this entry dear Marina.. Your painting is lovely.. And of course you knew I would love May’s entry, I treated myself so a birth stone in Scotland, a pair of drop thistle earings with a green gem stone. Wendell writes the most beautiful poetry and these two are perfect..
Have a wonderful rest of the week my friend, and wonderful weekend..
    Hugs Sue xxx

  5. Marina, sorry I’m late.

The paintings are genius and I mean that from my heart and respects to your work.
The poems are amazing and so touching. I feel the good vibes and energy surrounding the paintings, poetry, and music with genesis. 🙂

Brilliant! work my friend. Miss ya Marina. 🙂

  6. Great painting and beautiful poems.
In this fifth month the five basic elements of cosmos are supposed to be in a rare balance.

    Enjoyed this post.

    • As a very talented poet yourself, I knew you’d appreciate his poetry! Thank you, my dear Christy! Wishes for a wonderful Sunday and week ahead! 🙂 xxxxxx +hugs!

  7. The month of May is a very special time – right between Spring and Summer. It holds the warmth of the sun and brilliance of nature’s flowers, a time of promises for new beginnings and hope – the month of celebration. Love your beautiful design Marina – a perfect embrace of Wendell’s lovely poetry. Hope you have a great weekend my friend.

    • Ah, my dearest friend, your kindness is disarming… Thank you so much, Ninni. If I may say however, YOU ‘teach us to observe it’! My warmest wishes to you! 🙂 🙂

  8. Wonderful, Marina! Wendell’s work is as awesome, as yours is! I’m working hard until early July. I’m excited to see what you come up with for July! Of course June is in between, but will go by in a blur!
I’m excited for June as well! Much love & appreciation> _Resa xoxo

    • I knew you’d love Wendell’s poetry! 🙂
So happy you’re busy [just remember to take breathing breaks!]
June ….July…. I can’t believe summer is almost here!!!!!!
Take care, my sweet friend and be happy! 🙂 xxxx + love!

  9. OMG Marina, The Firth of Fifth! You’ve given me an earworm… and an urge to go back to… “Guilty Corner”. The secret area of my music folders where stuff like Genesis lives… forever!

  10. You often show the detail first and I usually forget there’s more to come. So it’s always a double pleasure for me…seeing the detail as a finished work and then, scroll down and…Ta Daaa! It grows into another beauty. This is a wonderful minimalist five, complete in the subtlety of its unseen parts and floating in its field of spring colours. Your poetry was a lovely bonus Wendell, thank you both for a deeply delicious post…

    • Ah, John… your words just made me quadruple pleased and I’m so happy you enjoyed Wendell’s poetry. Wishing you a deliciously beautiful May, my friend! 😉

  11. Marina, you paintings always inspire me deep within! You are a true blessings when you share that beautiful selfless love from your heart in all you share. Thank you dearest sister and friend for the spiritual embrace. You made my day! May sweet blessings of peace, love and happiness always fill your days and the days of all who embrace your treasured gifts!

    • Thank YOU, my dearest Wendell, for the blessing of your presence and talent for which I am truly grateful. You know YOU made my day when I received those two poems/gems! May your light shine brightly, always. 🙂
