following the sun

Most of the times there’s a tendency to overlook beauty while we follow our every day path. For more than half a year, I’ve been capturing sunrises and sights that I find beautiful. While the eyes and heart are the ultimate receptors, having a phone or camera handy can help revive those moments.
Here’s an example of one day… following yesterday’s sun path.
First thing I saw yesterday was this beautiful array of crimson clouds.

A shot later[!], they turned orange:

More light as the sun prepares to make an entrance…  and

…here comes the sun!

…shinning bright!

It’s quite interesting watching the course of the sun during the day.
For example, a little bit later, the sun looked like this:

like a reflection on sea ripples.

Next post will be more about details and paths, but not forgetting to follow the sun!  😉
So, every day when you wake up and think that all’s the same, remember to look closer. There are always little pockets [and even huge ones sometimes] of beauty waiting for your eyes to discover them.

Happy weekend everyone!

and speaking of ‘happy’…
here’s someone already in ‘weekend mood’!

  1. You say your eyes work like beauty traps?? Good heavens!!– that puts a man like me in danger!! Luckily, I’m also a man of great courage, so I will continue to come here. Besides, it’s always sunny here, and I want to work on my tan… 😊🌞🔥🔥🔥😳🚑👽👽👽👽👽👽

    • Great because there is a golden chaise longue just for you and of course, ambrosia [eternal supply!] 😎🍨🍨🍹🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍹

  2. I’ve always felt that the crimson clouds speaks to one as a poetic message to the world.
It’s those breathless moments that puts humanity to re-think about life and how beautiful life is. Love these pictures, Marina. 🙂

  3. Oh that Hera … she has a way about her. Cheers to her joy and the joy she brings.

Meanwhile —- OMG on those pics … I love the colors of the pre-sunset light. Just love them. Thanks (and I will incorporate mine in a future beach walk.)

    • Ah, I thought you’d like them, Frank!
Looking forward to your beach walk [and every one of your beach walks for that mater! 😉 ]
…”that Hera” yep, well said!!!! 🙂
      Yamas!

  4. I can see now where you get your wonderful sense of colour from – thanks for sharing such brightness

    • 🙂 Ah, thank You, Laura. I was going to say that I rarely stopped to look at a sunrise [before this “sunrise project”] but our environment is intrinsically imprinted on our dna, you’re right! 🙂 xx

  5. Gorgeous sun shots, Marina!!!! I wish we had more sun/cloud play, but alas, I live in Toronto! Toronto is on a great lake to our south. The clouds roll in over the lake and thicken up to the point where it’s just one big grey cloud and one big grey day.
Well, we do get sunny days, but not many in the winter. Usually we are at least partly overcast the rest of the year.
The good news is, it’s the perfect light for shooting street art!!! Heck, even a light rain is fab for shooting! The art is a sun, when the sun is not here.
I’ve been thinking a lot of you lately, because it is DST time. I know! 😂
Sending much love, sun and Hera hugs! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    • Toronto is a beautiful place and clouds can produce very spectacular skies! As for the sun… fear not, I will be sending you as many rays as possible to make up for your grey days! 😉 accompanied by love and many hugs and before I forget… there’s somebody next to me pressing to send you tail wags and woofs …guess who! She says hi to Jeep and Johnny too! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxo

  6. You are indeed in a choice part of the world for such beautiful scenery, and consequently to exercise your exceptional artistic talent. I can almost see in my mind’s eye the work in progress, of you’re transposing this beauty on canvas… thus so in your inimitable style. You do nature justice dear lady!

    Jean-Jacques

    >

    • My dear Jean-Jacques, your part of the world is also abundant in beauty… doing “nature justice” is a great compliment! I usually tend to create my own ‘dreamscapes’, just like you create WONDERFUL ‘dreamscapes’ with your words, but I do like to ‘deviate’ from time to time. Hence this, capturing sunrises / nature. I’m sure these images are already transposing in my mind and hopefully soon I’ll be able to share the outcome. Enjoy a beautiful Spring month, my friend! 🙂

    • Shows huh?! 😉 Only thing that worries me is that the sun rises earlier and earlier and with the cursed change of time to DST I’ll probably have to rise up with the vampires to capture sunrises! 😉
