on a looooooong absence…

My dear friends, it’s been so long and I wouldn’t know where to begin!

I’ll just say that after some turbulent and adventurous months, all is well now. My illustration above is symbolic of sunshine emerging from darkness [in this case flowers emerging from a black hole], just as sun rises after the night.

I’ve missed my WP family and hope to be with you all back soon. Catching up will take some time, so I ask all your patience.

A beautiful Tuesday, November and …Happy New Moon tomorrow!

  1. I’ve been gone as well, but slowly making my way back – 2018 had been a long and challenging year. I’m so glad to read that you are emerging – off to check on your latest posts.

  2. I am still “gone” myself at the moment, I don’t really have enough time at the moment for blogging. Welcome back. 🙂

    • …my touch, maybe not, my mind though hmmmm… lets see, I am replying a month later, so I can safely say, I’ve lost it!!!!! 😉 But I am ever so grateful for your lovely words. Worry not, I’ll get it back and …be back soon! 😉

      • No rush, Marina.
I understand how priorities can shift.
There are so many projects that I’m dying to complete but that I can’t bring myself to work on.
        You’ll get there!

    • A-ha ha, my friend, may I please have a ‘replay’ as soon as I actually do return?!!!!! Don’t ask why, but my return failed big time! Very happy to see you!!!! 🙂 🙂

  3. Nice to see you back Marina. I visited your site a few times over the last couple of months but no updates, pleased your back and hope whatever trials & tribulations you have had, are now resolved.

“A mind unruffled by the vagaries of fortune, from sorrow freed, from defilements cleansed, from fear liberated — this is the greatest blessing.” (Mangala Sutta)

    • Ah, David, if only… but this kind of freedom is far far far away …still! 😉
Nice to see you too, my friend [a month + later she says!!!!]. It seems that my ‘return’ attempt, failed horribly. I will work my way back though. Hope all is well. 🙂

  4. Wooooowww!

I’m so happy you are finally back!!!
I missed your work, your blog and, of course, your presence on my blog too. Because you were always the first reader, with a lot of Likes on every post I posted.

So, i’m happy yo see you back!

I hope everything is ok with you!

Just note that I created a new blog, but dedicated only to mey trips and my photos. The other one, where you saw posts about “Foto(s) do dia”, at Paranoias, still being feeded. 😀

But the comment stays with the related photography blog, just to show to the world that it exists. 😀

    Regards from Azores! 😀

    • Hey, my friend! I’ve also missed your work and just as I thought I’d returned… I disappeared again!!!!!! Like my friend Claudine says, “life sometimes gets in the way”! 😉 Soon soon though! [well, I hope!] Best regards to you too and thanks so much for all those lovely words!!!!! 🙂

  5. Let’s see now… in recent months there have been earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires, tsunamis, volcanos, seismic shifts, geo-physic disturbances, solar eclipses, lunar eclipses, stars have been born, stars have flamed out, black holes have consumed millions of planets, galaxies have expanded, worlds have collided and been vaporized– I even stubbed my toe one day… 😢

These have all been cataclysmic events, but nothing– I say, NOTHING– has approached the cataclysmic-osity (??) and euphoric intensity of… The Return Of MARINA KANAVAKI To The Blogosphere!! Why is this important? Well, for one thing, now my ambrosia will start tasting sweet again!– alas, it had gone sour (like all of life) during your absence, my dear Marina!!

Thank you for your sudden, stunning, vivacious return, along with a dynamic new creation!! Now the world is once again a sweet garden, and we, your legions of admirers, can walk there with light hearts… 🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🚀🌒🌓🌔🌕🌖🌗🌘💥🚑👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽👽😊

    • Could you please reserve this wonderful response to my rather clumsy ‘return’ which as it seems, failed horribly, as I managed to vanish as suddenly as I ‘returned’, for a later date [?] when I will actually manage to come back on a regular basis? I feel ashamed and unworthy of such a response!!!!! 🙂 I do thank you though and know that I’d arranged for tons of ambrosia to be sent to you daily, under death penalty by being prohibited to view your mind blowing work [it is known that failing to do so results in certain, excruciating death!] Believe me everyone at Mt O has been working overtime to provide you with the finest ambrosia!!!!!! 🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨🍨

  6. Lovely to hear from you again Marina 😊 I’m so glad the flowers are blooming again for you🌻🌺🌼🌸I’ve been away for ages too. Life has a habit of getting in the way. Wishing🌹🌹🌹all the way for you from now onwards!💕💕

    • “Life getting in the way”!!! Indeed it does!!!!!!! 😉 Would you believe that it took me a month+ to reply?! My ‘come back’ failed horribly but I am optimistic that I will make it, even if it takes some time! Very very happy to see you here, Pam! 💐🌻🌺🌼🌷🌺💐🌹🌼🌻💐🌹🌸🌷🌺🌻🌼💐 for you!! 🙂

    • Ah ha ha… well, I attempted to anyway but alas, it seems I’m not doing very well at that one either!!! I promise I’ll try soon!!! 😉 Always good to see and hear from you Christy! 🙂 xoxoxo

  7. I was wondering… nice see you’re back. Hope now everything is back on the good track.
I will soon write you more, here too, we have being under quite a big pressure. But everything is under control! Hugs and love

    • My dearest Claudine, it’s so good hearing from you! This has got to be my worst year in socializing, certainly the worst here at my WP home! It seems that even this attempt failed to ‘succeed’! I’ll get there gradually though! Many hugs and love to you too and great hearing all is back under control with you too!!!!!
PS Loved your wonderful wonderful card! So beautiful – made my day and it sits proudly center at our fireplace! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

    • Happy to hear that, David! It was a very spontaneous act – both my representation and return! Been planning to do that for a long time but life and work have been constantly changing my plans! 😉

    • Thank you, my dear Alexandra. Fortunately, life is good always, with its ups and downs, all part of being. Good to hear from you too, my friend! Hope all is well for you and all you love too! 🙂

  8. Missed you much! Missed Hera! Missed your art!
Flowers emerging from a black hole of hell is a sensational painting.
    There are parallels in my life. I get it! {{{hugs}}}

  9. Hey stranger, nice to hear from you again, along with your opening intriguing tableau, imagery of which has me picturing your long absence, very much as you suggest, being one of turbulence. Odd that this should arrive while I am wrapping up the final finishing touches to my 15th book of pomes, that should be out in early December 2018. You may find it amusing that the title is “Chaos” – a human side of man – save my contribution pictures is also an attempt to get out of the black hole of chaos! À bientôt.

    • Such a long long time huh?!!! That is wonderful news, my friend on both accounts, book and getting out of the black hole of chaos! I do wonder whether we ever leave it but as long as we look up towards the sun, we’re okay! 😉 I’ll stick to the positive side of things, speaking of which, I can’t wait to read it! À bientôt!

  10. Nice to see you back here! I am absent from blogging myself at the moment but preparing to come back as soon as my time allows again (probably early next year).

    • Hi, my friend! I had been preparing to come back, many months but never got round to it, so on a spontaneous act, I just posted without any previous planning! 😉 Looking forward to your return too!

  11. Dearest Marina, you have been missed.. And I have been sending out some vibes in your direction… Good to see you and may that Light now begin to shine from the darkness…. Take your time…
Just so good to know you are OK…
Much love your way Marina.. ❤

  12. Hooray!!!! I just awaken, turned on the computer, checked email, then saw the message of your return. I didn’t check anything else so I could hurry here! You kept the message simple while providing a beautiful new creation. Interesting how gray and bright colors go well together. Just a touch of black is perfect. Of course my eyes immediately noticed the Marina Swoosh that I adore.

I’m so happy that life has settled enough allowing you to return to WP. I’ve missed you here and at my little corner of the world. Tomorrow (during your morning) who should be able to see a SPECIAL page/tab below my header/banner that will have a message you will enjoy.

Welcome back! Hope all is well, Yamas! … and a hug.

    • Ahhhhh….. now what a wonderful ‘welcome home’ message, my friend! It was a spontaneous post without thinking too much about it. I’ve come to realize that planning doesn’t work!!!! 😉 Soooooo, good to see you, Frank. Yamas and I look forward to catching up and seeing your post tomorrow! 🍷🤗😀🍷

      • For me, “Welcome back” wasn’t enough, so I had to write more. I know you’ll enjoy the Special page that will be up by your morning. It’s temporary, but will have a message that you will enjoy – and – a perfect serendipitous moment marking your return.

Happy to hear your thoughts
