Couldn’t get the first video here but the second one is really nice. Such great swing. So often we laud the big stars and overlook the very talented backup band! 🙂 Sometimes potential stars have to leave their cherished musical buddies because they feel they are being called to greater things… and that requires people with greater talent (thinking of k. d. lang here… but I’m sure it’s the same story with many others…). Pete Best vs. Ringo comes to mind… 🙂
That is true but in a band usually everyone contributes towards a distinct sound…

Listening now… a bit more fluid that some of his material but I still find that for me his music doesn’t expand or happily transport but rather confines my consciousness… too “intellectual” for me. Like a chess program making music. 🙂 Sorry but I gotta be honest. You’re too nice and I respect you too much to fake it with you. 🙂
As for the distinct sound, he certainly has it here… same ol’ heavy and foreboding Glass… 🙂

I hadn’t noticed… I suppose due to some sort of dyslexia [my own diagnosis! 😉 I can become very ‘creative’ with words in an odd sort of way] I read it as ‘than’ anyway! 😉
Well, coming from a long line of Greek nobility 😉, it seems you already speak about ten different languages. No wonder you’d have a bit of crosstalk! 😁 Me, my only excuse is multitracking… And I’m not talking about sound! 🙂
A ha ha ha haaaaaaaa…….. just 2 and the second one [French] I haven’t spoken since childhood, but I do get the accents easily – I suppose due to my musical ear! 😉 I tell you though, multitracking and multitasking [very familiar to me too!] will be the end of us! Well, you seem to have a good balance! it’s only those paranoidos that have unresolved stuff… they lean way too far in one direction… they are the ones that wind up in the losers bin.. if not now, later… 😊😀😇👻😸🦋

Point taken. I guess it’s a matter of degree. Some folks seem locked in a partic. ‘archetype’ for lack of a better term. Others seem more fluid and flexible. As for Buddhism, I think it’s only a matter of time before its own warts are revealed. Right now it’s okay to be critical of Xity but Buddhism still seems beyond the microscope… which can’t last forever.

I know what you mean, however, for me, his darker pieces work well [got this thing with dark music! 😉 ]and this is one of them. However for such a big list of works, I find that the pieces of his I like are few… 😉
It’s funny because I still like The Doors and not too many of their tunes could be called “elevating”! Well, maybe some. But my point is it all comes back to what my publicist friend once said, “music is very personal.” 🙂😸

31st was a nice evening of dance. Nice people … no crazy drunks. On the 1st, went to our first-ever New Year’s Day party … 7 couples, dinner, and chat. A good afternoon. Especially that most of the couples did not know each other.
