Ακούμε το έργο Two Pieces For Viola [1. Pensiero, 2. Allegro Apassionato] από τον έξοχο Timothy Ridout. Στο πιάνο ο Frank Dupree.

On this date, February 26, 1879, the esteemed composer, conductor and soloist of viola, Frank Bridge, was born. He was a teacher and mentor to Benjamin Britten who had a great appreciation for his work. Like several other British composers’, Bridge’s music was rediscovered around the end of the 20th century, having mostly stayed out of the modernist currents of its time. We listen to the Two Pieces For Viola [1. Pensiero, 2. Allegro Apassionato] performed by the superb Timothy Ridout, accompanied by Frank Dupree on the piano.
