  2. A beautiful reminder of the elegance of Echeveria in your photos Marina especially since our wet winter killed mine though I managed to save a few leaves as cuttings – fingers crossed
Ps a lot has been happening on your blog so I’ve enjoyed looking round and catching up
Pps still so lovely in your avatar

    • Oh… I hope your Echeveria recovers fully and blooms beautifully!
ps always a pleasure having you around! xo
pps awwwww…. 20+ years later but happy as I’m walking my favorite hill! 😉

  3. Fabulous photography, Marina. What a gorgeous plant – brought to us by your wonderful and creative eye.
    Great tune, too!

  4. Your photos are amazing, Marina. The detail of colour, the positioning, the background reminds me of the elegance and beauty of plants. “If you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for a moment.” Georgia O’Keefe. Thank you for giving me “world for a moment.” Hugs!

    • Awww… thank you so much, Rebecca and how wonderful those words by Georgia O’Keefe are. Such a beautiful thing to say, my friend. A huge hug to you and love. xoxoxoxo

  5. Oh how absolutely lovely! I was gifted a dozen mini succulents for Mother’s Day, and I’ve begun trying to identify them all. One of them is similar to yours, but not as pink. Hmmm…I wonder. So much fun to nurture living things…and photograph them to share! Sweet!!!

    • I thought it was sweet too! It’s not actually very pink [the leaves], they’re this bluish green and only slightly on the edges a little pink. If you look at an image google search [https://www.google.com/search?q=echeveria+elegans&newwindow=1&safe=active&client=firefox-b-d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjim7_qi7TpAhUConEKHeeAA0IQ_AUoAXoECB8QAw&biw=1468&bih=863] you’ll see some are not at all pink and the flowers vary. To be honest I’ve only recently started appreciating succulents and cacti. Mom has always loved them, so she has quite a collection. I couldn’t believe how beautiful this plant/flower was. I didn’t know the name… I was searching succulents and found it, so maybe this way you’ll identify yours.
Many hugs and may they grow beautifully!

  6. The Echeveria Elegans is beautiful and the photography is fantastic. That’s a nice weird David Byrne video, which is one of the many things I like about David Byrne. Did you see his movie “True Stories”? It’s a classic. I ran into David Byrne at an Irakere concert when we lived in Madrid, Spain.

    • Ah, thank you.. yes it is a beautiful plant!
I know, fun video! I haven’t seen the movie and unfortunately haven’t seen him live either. Lucky you! 🙂

      • I haven’t seen him perform live, but I did meet him briefly at the Irakere (Cuban band) concert. I went to the bar to get water, and David Byrne was sitting at the bar. I said ‘Hi are you doing a concert in Madrid?” He said no that he was just passing through. Check out “True Stories”. It’s a really fun movie with great music.
