There’s something special
about eventide,
the moments around the sun’s setting.
◉
Peaceful
yet alluring.
◉
Silhouettes,
animate & inanimate
merged
in perfect black.
◉
◉
Oh, look, there’s a mushroom-like building
on top of that faraway hill!

And my first attempt moving intentionally the camera [ICM]

Wishing everyone
a beautiful Monday
and week ahead!

Very beautiful pictures of eventide. I really like your new lay-out with the photo boxes to click on.
Ah, thank you, my friend …for both!
I was looking for a simple – user friendly layout…
Likewise! I really like your new layout! 🙂
🙂
🙂
What great lighting! Eventide, how romantic!
Is this from in Athens, or your mom’s?
Thank you for beauty, Marina!
💞❤️🎼🎷🥰🎸🥂🎊💞❤️🎼🎷🥰🎸🥂🎊
It was actually from a visit to friends who live in the outskirts of Athens. I had my camera because I was hoping to see the International Space Station… never did! 😉
So happy you liked this!
🥰😘❤🧡🥰🧡❤😘🥰
Ah! Well, I hope you do get to see the Space Station one day! I’d really like to see it!
I see nothing from Toronto.
Changed my calendar page this morning!

I don’t think it’ll be passing again, but that’s okay… I got those shots instead! 😉
September already… unbelievable!
Hugs and xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
over to you!!!!! [and Hera paw waves and licks… to J&J too!]
Hugs & Kisses all around!

Wonderful!
And how can we not love the word eventide?
Ah, thank you, Dale. So happy you enjoyed it! I’m aware it’s a word not used very often but as I was explaining to Steve, I loved its sound! 😉 🤗😘
It’s funny how a word is more popular in one place or another. But yes. Great sound to go with fabulous ages. 😊😘
This is probably the only ‘privilege’ of being a non native speaker. You see and hear words differently, free from various ‘things’ attached to them. Sometimes it feels harder to write in greek because of the ‘weight’ [and not only] words carry.
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
True enough. I feel that way about Italian or Spanish words.
And that is interesting. Harder to write in your native language! xoxoxo

Eventide is an old-fashioned English word, one that preserves the original meaning of tide, which was an interval of time. Only later did the word become associated with the rising and falling of the sea, and eventually that newer sense drove out the older one.
It seemed appropriate to me. Most of the times (in my mother language too) I go for the sound of words. 😉
I wish I knew Greek. Maybe someday. How old were you when you learned English?
You probably already know many words you speak everyday! 😉 A kid. Because of my musical ear, I had a great ease catching the sound of other languages [hence when I speak for a while with a Scottish person, I’ll soon end up speaking like a Scot! 😉 😂🤣 ]
I love the simplicity and mystery of silhouettes. While monochrome photography may get rid of the ‘distraction’ of colour, silhouettes go further on the path to minimalism getting rid of the distractions of tone and texture, leaving only pure form.
Your powerline silhouettes are fascinating!

Oh…. I’m so happy you found my silhouettes fascinating! I loved how living and lifeless became one and then …the sweet watermelon sky above…

Your photography reflects the beauty of your poetry. Traveling to your side of the world from my kitchen table, is a wonderful way to start my week. Hugs and more hugs!
Ah… thank you so much, my dear Rebecca and although I was merely describing the image, I’m so glad it reached your kitchen table… many many hugs your way. xoxoxo
Beautiful!!!!
Thank you, my friend. Almost Caleb day! 😉
Thank you Marina.. loved those views …. Continue to enjoy those peaceful evenings ❤ Much love ❤
Ah, thank you, my dearest Sue. You too! Many many hugs your way! …and love! ❤🤗❤
And returned Marina 💖🙏
🤗😘🤗🙏
very nice inky outlined silhouettes – you even managed to get a 3-d feel with that first image because of the triangulation of the post. Isn’t ICM fun? 🙂
Oh, my I hadn’t noticed that! (I’ve got s defective stereoscopic eyesight… funny but supposedly I calculate depth with my brain! 😉)
It is a lot of fun!
Thank you so much!!! 🤗😘
Hooray! Your first ICM. Nice!
🤣🤣🤣…lame but fun! 😉 I know someone who’s an expert…M.S…. wait, that’s YOU!
Well thank you very much, my friend. Now it’s time for you to become an expert.
🤣🤣🙄🙃😊😉😊🤣 hard! 😉
Well, you just did your first shot. Now it’s just a question of using your imagination and practicing.
🙏😉😊
There really is a peaceful feeling to these images! Love them 🙂 xx
