Αν το “All Yοu Need Is Love” είναι η μετατροπή σε “ιδεολογία” του κόνσεπτ με το οποίο οι Beatles έγιναν διάσημοι [τα “τραγούδια αγάπης”], η αληθινή ιδεολογία τους βρίσκεται εδώ, ξανά σ’ ένα τραγούδι του Lennon: όχι απλώς νοσταλγία αλλά “επαναβύθιση”, ολική επαναφορά της παιδικής ηλικίας. Ενός κόσμου, όπου τα όρια ανάμεσα σε φαντασία και πραγματικότητα είναι ουσιαστικά ανύπαρκτα.
Όχι ακριβώς μακρινό απ’ τον δικό μας …ανεξαρτήτως εξωτερικών γνωρισμάτων.
Από μουσική άποψη, για τα αυτιά μου, το “Strawberry Fields Forever” είναι ό,τι πιο συναρπαστικό ηχογράφησαν ποτέ αυτοί οι άνθρωποι.

If “All You Need Is Love” was the transformation of the concept by which The Beatles became famous [the “love songs”] into an “ideology”, their true ideology lies here, again in a Lennon song: not just nostalgia but “re-immersion”, total recall of childhood: of a world, where the boundaries between imagination and reality are virtually non-existent.
Not exactly far from our world… regardless of external features.
Musically, to my ears, “Strawberry Fields Forever” is the most exciting thing these people ever recorded.
