  1. He did amazing works. I can’t add to my previous comment, except to say I am not a fan of religious paintings, although I can appreciate the artsmanship. I’m glad he didn’t focus on those, as his portraits are rare photos, in a sense. He must have been half mad, judging from his madness works.

  2. Doña Isabel de Porcel and The Milkmaid of Bordeaux are my 2 faves.
Majas on a Balcony is pleasant, until I look at the background.
Interesting how he works from the beauty of portraiture, to something evil this way comes.
Totally enjoyed the Haydn piece! Thank you!!!

  3. A marvelous collection of Francisco Goya’s artwork, Marina. Diverse, poignant, frightening – he was a master of igniting our emotions. I especially appreciated that you added this quote: “I have had three masters, Nature, Velasquez, and Rembrandt.”

    • “Master of igniting our emotions” so well said, Rebecca and I loved that quote too! Thank you, my dearest friend for joining me in another art journey. Enjoy a beautiful Wednesday! xoxo

  4. I love the beautifully intricate and rich paintings of Goya Marina. Truly one of the greatest artists among the masters. His range of subjects is remarkable, from the beautiful portraits to the surreal Saturn and garroted man. Thank you for the the lovely series. Sending love ❤️
