Thank you! 🙂
This conjures up lots of images as I think back to War within this time space..
Love to you Marina…

Thank you, Sue! Now there’s a word we could do without: ‘war’.
Love to you and hugs! 🙂 xxxxx
Yes I could not agree with you more.. xx
I love the contrasting colors and the horizontal linear composition of this piece! It’s splendid in it’s own simplicity!
Thank you very much, Eva. It’s a detail from a work I did many years ago. You can see it here: https://marinakanavaki.com/2012/11/01/1-6/
Just found this piece-it’s quite wonderful!
Thank you, my dear Elena! 🙂
So atmospheric… a feeling of anticipation dread, and at the same time a sort of fierce energy comes from your work.
Thank you so much, Lois! This one is a detail taken from “Trip from 1 to 6”, an idea I had of creating a hexaptych depicting a journey from number 1 to number 6. (full artwork: https://marinakanavaki.com/2012/11/01/1-6).
I’ve just had a look at the hexaptych… so interesting to see the single picture in the context of the other five… it really is a journey, isn’t it!
How big is each picture? Does it hang on a wall, or stand? Did you know where you were going on your journey, or did you just gradually arrive at number 6?
It stands and it’s 36cm tall. I had an idea of how the numbers would be and the element of the sun ‘growing’, but in the process, the sun took over!!!! 🙂
Sounds a similar to process when I write, I have an idea but then it just takes off!
🙂 !!
kali mera, marina! kala?….this picture is just magical…evokes the atmosphere of war straight away! and with just 4 colours (i guess)? its a great depiction….you are definitely a lady with plenty of talent! i used to paint using watercolours some 20 yrs ago…at that time, my son was born…and every time i sat down to paint, he would crawl in and divert my attention…never touched painting since then!
Thank you so much! Good morning to you too! I hope you go back and start painting again… you never really loose touch. This one is actually a detail of a project i did many years ago titled: a trip. My trip was from 1 to 6[!] and this was a detail of no1! It’s mixed media [tissue paper, indian ink and oil color]. You can see the whole trip here: 1-6
fantastic!
Love your work, you are very talented! Τα συγχαρητήριά μου! 🙂
Thank you so much Ioanna for your kind words!
🙂
Ευχαριστώ πολύ!!!
This painting is very striking. The colours just go pow! I felt an immediate positive response when I saw it.
Thank you very much, Margaret. This is in fact a detail from a trip from 1 to 6 [this is no1]. You can see it here: https://marinakanavaki.com/2011/10/19/1-6/
