• 1. Grave Assai-Fandango από το Kουιντέτο για Kιθάρα έργο 448 [Richard Savinoκιθάρα, The Artaria Quartet σε όργανα εποχής].
• 2. Adagio από το Kονσέρτο για Βιολοντσέλο έργο 480 [Anner Bylsmaβιολοντσέλο, Tafelmusik, υπό τον Jean Lamon]
• 3. Andante Sostenuto από τη Συμφωνία έργο 506, “Το Σπίτι του Διαβόλου” [Tafelmusik υπό τον Jean Lamon]

On this date, February 19, 1743, the remarkable composer and cellist Luigi Boccherini was born. His main contribution lies in the music he wrote for his favorite instrument, although his only most widely known work today is the Minuet from the String Quintet op. 275. Bypassing this, we listen to:
• 1. Grave Assai-Fandango from Guitar Quintet op. 448 [Richard Savinoguitar, The Artaria Quartet in period instruments].
• 2. Adagio from the Concerto for Violoncello op. 480 [Anner Bylsmavioloncello, Tafelmusik, dir. Jean Lamon]
• 3. Andante Sostenuto from Symphony op. 506, “The Devil’s House” [Tafelmusik, dir. Jean Lamon]

More about these reblogs

Lately I have been rebloging music videos from Oannes new blog. For my friends who didn’t know, or wonder why…. Oannes [aka Socratis Papahatzis] is my husband, partner in life and music and the one with my undying admiration. Together we have a band MK-O [the music of Marina Kanavaki & Oannes]. So, it’s my pleasure to share with you his [and mine] musical selections. Although here I reblog mainly his musical selections, he writes exceptional articles on various topics [some may need translation], so do visit his site. He has my highest recommendation!
