Ο λόγος που ο Bohuslav Martinů δεν είναι γνωστός όσο θα έπρεπε είναι πιθανώς η τσέχικη καταγωγή του. Αρκεί να ρίξει κανείς μια ματιά στη λίστα των επιεικώς μέτριων, διάσημων Βρετανών συνθετών για να πάρει μια ιδέα του τι εννοώ.
Πρόκειται κατά την άποψή μου για έναν από τους πιο ενδιαφέροντες συνθέτες του 20 αιώνα. Δείγμα της τέχνης του το δεύτερο μέρος, Adagio, από το Κονσέρτο για δυο πιάνα και ορχήστρα που ακούμε.

The reason Bohuslav Martinů is not known as much as he should be is probably his Czech ancestry. One only has to look at the list of mediocre at best, famous British composers to get an idea of what I mean.
He is, in my view, one of the most interesting composers of the 20th century.
A token of his art is the second part, Adagio, from the Concerto for two pianos and orchestra that we hear.
