Ακούμε το δεύτερο μέρος, Andante, της Συμφωνίας Νο 3 του Prokofiev. Το υλικό της προέρχεται από την όπερά του, ‘Fiery Angel’, η οποία δεν επρόκειτο να παρουσιαστεί επί σκηνής όσο ζούσε. Η συμφωνία είναι αφιερωμένη σε ένα από τους ελάχιστους φίλους του όχι ιδιαίτερα κοινωνικού Sergei Sergeievitch, συμφοιτητή του και αξιόλογο συνθέτη Nikolai Myaskovsky, παρεμπιπτόντως γεννημένο επίσης αυτό μήνα – μουσική του θα ακούσουμε τις επόμενες μέρες.

We hear the second part, Andante, from Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 3. Its material derives from his opera, ‘Fiery Angel’, which was not to be performed on stage during his lifetime. The symphony is dedicated to fellow student and remarkable composer Nikolai Myaskovsky one of the few friends of Sergei Sergeievitch, not a particularly sociable person. By the way, he was also born this month – we will hear music of his in the coming days.
