Χαρακτηριστικό της “εξελικτικής” διαδικασίας που ακολουθούν τα μουσικά πράγματα είναι αυτό : ένα άλμπουμ όπως το Three Friends των Βρετανών prog rockers Gentle Giant, είχε εισέλθει στο αμερικάνικο chart, φτάνοντας (έστω και) στο #197 του Billboard. Άλλο χαρακτηριστικό της ίδιας διαδικασίας: ο τραγουδιστής του γκρουπ, Derek Schulman, μετά τη διάλυσή του το 1980, ακολούθησε καριέρα στελέχους δισκογραφικής (Polygram, ATCO, Roadrunner). Στις ανακαλύψεις του περιλαμβάνονται περιπτώσεις όπως των Men WIthout Hats, Pantera, Cinterella Η πιο “βαριά” υπογραφή βέβαια, και το …πολύτιμο πετράδι σ’ αυτή τη δεύτερη καριέρα, ήταν ο Bon Jovi… Μένουμε σε πιο αγνές εποχές εκ πεποιθήσεως, ακούγοντας το εισαγωγικό κομμάτι του Three Friends (1972).

A sign of the “evolutionary” process that music follows is this: an album like Three Friends by British prog rockers Gentle Giant had entered the American chart, reaching (albeit) #197 on the Billboard. Another characteristic of the same process: the group’s singer, Derek Shulman, after its breakup in 1980, pursued a career as a record company executive (PolyGram, ATCO, Roadrunner). Among his discoveries are acts such as Men Without Hats, Pantera, Cinderella. The heaviest signing, of course, and the …most precious gem in this second career, was Bon Jovi… We remain in purer times by conviction, listening to the opening track of Three Friends (1972).
