✻
We’re listening to three strong excerpts from the atmospheric, bluesy & jazzy soundtrack that Joe Jackson composed for Francis Ford Coppola’s distinctive film ‘Tucker’ (1988, Jeff Bridges, Martin Landau). The latter, “for some reason,” followed a fate strikingly similar to that of Preston Tucker—the inventor of the revolutionary, ahead-of-its-time car the movie portrays. In two words: commercial failure.
