Éric Mouquet / Michel Sanchez’s multi-culti electronica was never really my cup of tea… with a few exceptions, like the live performance of ‘Cafe Europa’ from their 1999 album Made in Japan. Enriched with a Ministry-like sample and a stunning middle-break piano solo by Sanchez, the track becomes truly uplifting – the perfect opener for the album, and I assume for the live show itself.
