I’ve always found earth patterns fascinating.
Sometimes random, other times symmetrical, other abstract…

Yellow cracks
Yellow formations
on rocks,
Orange Sea Lichen
their name:
Caloplaca* Marina
[no wonder I was attracted to them!]

…with woody friends

…and an anchor

โฝ Caloplaca [Greek origin word : Calo & plaka] means โbeautiful patchesโ, and I couldn’t agree more!

Stunning Marina! And the phrase “earth nerve” adds depths and richness to my meditation… Thank you for the gift!
Ah, thank YOU, my dearest Colleen! So happy you enjoyed this! ๐ค๐
These are lovely, Marina! Beautiful patches in the sea, indeed. I’m glad someone else put forth the obvious pun in English. I was so tempted… ๐ Hugs to you this week and always!!
Is tempting!!!! ๐๐คฃ
Thank you, my dear Mary Jo, so glad you enjoyed them.
Hope you’re having a wonderful week (my, Wednesday already!)
Many hugs to you! ๐ค๐
Beautiful colours and textures. How could you not love them? ๐
My thoughts exactly! Thann you, my dear Dale! ๐งก๐๐งก
๐งก๐งก๐งก๐
It’s obviously ‘thank you’! Damn autocorrect .. it now creates new words!
๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก
Hahaha! I kinda figured it out…๐๐๐งก๐งก๐งก๐๐๐งก๐

Just very beautiful. You’d think it would discourage an artist like yourself to pick up her brush. Nature cannot be surpassed, so why try? But no. We are inspired by nature to further create.
Nature is a great inspiration but you see an artist’s nature is to interpret, filter their vision and then create something else. Well, sort of! ๐
Well, you do create beauty. As a photographer too. It’s sort of a “natural” instinct.
Such a lovely thing to say. I can certainly agree on it being a natural instinct ๐ …something you have also!
Thank you, my friend. We all have talent to varying degrees. Beethoven said that the rules of proper harmony must be taught (pounded into) a person before age twelve so that, if there is genius, it will have a place to go.
He may have a point… ๐
I’m a bit late on learning the rules of harmony, but I’m working on it. But I fear too that ol’ Beethoven was correct.
Although I was taught them early on, I must admit I forgot them next minute! ๐๐คฃ๐
Maybe Beethoven was wrong.

I love the vibrant oranges and yellows, Marina, and then the textures add another different kind of beauty. Great photos! ๐งก๐งก๐งก๐งก
I agree with you. The gray textures of the rock bring out the vibrance of colors. Thank you, my dear Lauren! ๐งก๐๐งก
Sooooo much like GBay I was tempted to dredge up some old photos. But why bother.. these are great!
Love the salty anchor ! ๐๐
Awwww….. thank you, but I’d live to see them! ๐๐
Yeah, there was one of my shadow on the rocks but I couldn’t find it on social media. HD is upstairs and I’m too lazy to hook it all up! ๐๐
I wonder how many of the photos we take will remain buried in some hd…. ๐
I’m hoping my fam would at least take a look if I ‘ascended’ b4 them! ๐

love kickin the can with you… it’s been a while… how’s hubby and everything?
We’re all well… everything is in slow mo these days. Heat and all… You? Family?
Right. Sounds pretty much the same as here. Conserving energy… as far as I know we’re all healthy. Extended fam is scattered around the globe, which is nice. But FaceTime Zoom etc can be draining, so… EZ does it! ๐ผ

Lovely little anchor isn’t it?! ๐
Yes yes yes.

Like you, I’m fond of making abstract portraits of lichens. One good thing about them is that they exist almost everywhere; I’ve photographed them as close to home as half a mile and as far away as New Zealand.
They really do!!! ๐๐
Oh yeah, I am lichen it. (Bad pun. I’m so sorry ;-))

Beautiful photos. I love lichen. Lichen produces cool abstractions like you have captured here.
It does and they’re so interesting to watch! Thanks, my friend! ๐๐
Another fabulous series of photos ๐๐๐โค๏ธ๐
๐๐๐Thank you, my friend. ๐๐๐
Listening to Ground Luminosity. It’s definitely an Earth Nerve Net sound and feel.
It’s amazing how you spot these veins and arteries of earth. This one, especially in the second shot, is also very Paths of Colour! Amazing, Marina!
Pets for Hera!
