One of the important Russian composers waiting to be discovered by a wide audience, Sergei Taneyev followed a line similar to that of Tchaikovsky, less “national” and more “cosmopolitan”.
He was also a virtuoso pianist. His interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s 1st concerto and the enthusiasm of the second was the beginning of a great friendship.
We hear the second part, Allegro Molto of the Piano Trio [piano, violin, cello] in D major, op. 22. Performed by the Delta Piano Trio from Netherlands.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the song !
