As intricate as the peacock painting is, it’s hard for me to think people killed and ate them.
Once agin paintings provide a snapshot in history.

It is, isn’t it?
I do believe however that the painter drew them with compassion…
They do.

Happy Birthday to a master! The use of darkness to enhance both detail and softness has always impressed me. Thanks for your thoughts about his message (something I wouldn’t have considered). Yamas!
Most of the times we see things the way we want to see them! 😉
Yamas, my friend!
Happy Sunday!
Good point. After all, an artist wants to know what others see and think! 🙂
😉
I am surprised you would choose this image to highlight Rembrandt! He was fabulous, though 🙂
I think there is a feeling of compassion for those beings, even from the slightly indifferent smile of the woman.
Fabulous indeed! 😘😘
Quite possibly…💞

REMBRANDT is the Best! (Well, one of the best at least.) The Rembrandt work that I have seen in person, is Titled: Portrait of an Old Man , 1632. It is an amazing work, and located at one of my favorite art museums, the Fogg Art Museum, on the Harvard University Campus.
One of the best indeed!!! I love that painting!
Who couldn’t fail to like Rembrandt. I have to agree with Tim though on those peacocks lol 😆
I know… and I think he aims to evoke our sympathy for them, even with that vaguely smiling look of the woman.
😘❤
Could be, as his skill is not in doubt.. 💖 have a beautiful weekend Marina.
You too, my dearest Sue!
🌟❤🔆😘🤗
…to Light! 😉
😍😍😍🥰
Poor peacocks. Great painter though.
You can say that again… about both peacocks and painter!
