Με το έργο του Kammermusik No 1 του 1924 [θα επακολουθούσαν άλλα έξη στο ίδιο concept] ο Paul Hindemith προαναγγέλλει τον Frank Zappa και τους μινιμαλιστές των ’60s.
Ο διόλου γνωστός όσο θα έπρεπε, μεγαλοφυής Γερμανός συνθέτης και θεωρητικός, περιθωριοποιημένος από τους Ναζί [όχι για κάποια, ανύπαρκτη, εβραϊκή καταγωγή, αλλά για το “παρακμιακό” καλλιτεχνικό του οραμα] ήταν η εναλλακτική μου σκέψη για το συνθέτη του μήνα.
Ακούμε το έργο στην ερμηνεία αναφοράς του Claudio Abbado με τη Φιλαρμονική του Βερολίνου.

With his 1924 work Kammermusik No. 1 [six more would follow in the same concept], Paul Hindemith foreshadows Frank Zappa and the minimalists of the ’60s.
The much lesser known than he should be, genius German composer and theoretician, marginalized by the Nazis [not for some nonexistent Jewishness, but for his “decadent” artistic vision] was my alternative thought for the composer of the month.
We hear the work in Claudio Abbado’s reference performance with the Berlin Philharmonic.
