One of the “untrodden peaks” of LVB’s art, the magnificent violin concerto in D, Op. 61, took several decades to establish itself in the orchestral repertoire, mainly due to the unusually long, back then, duration of its first part, Allegro Ma Non Troppo, which we hear. David Oistrakh joins the Orchestre Nationale D’ ORTF under the direction of André Cluytens.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music!
