Στα τέλη του 18ου αι. η φήμη είχε αρχίσει να εξαπλώνεται στον φοιτητόκοσμο της Βιέννης, για τον νέο επαναστάτη συνθέτη, που έγραφε μια μουσική αλλόκοτη, που κανείς δεν μπορούσε να εκτελέσει ή και να καταλάβει. Μιλούσαν για έργα όπως η “Παθητική” σονάτα που ο LVB συνέθεσε 27 χρόνων το 1798.
Την ακούμε από τον Rudolf Serkin, ένα απ’ τους θρυλικούς champions του έργου του.

In the late 18th century, fame had begun to spread among the students of Vienna about the young rebel composer who wrote a bizarre music, that no one could perform or even understand. They were talking about works such as the “Pathétique” sonata which LVB composed aged 27 in 1798.
We hear it from Rudolf Serkin, one of the legendary champions of his work.
