from Oannes *

Πλησιάζοντας μελαγχολικά στο τέλος του μήνα Mozart, ιδού ένα μέρος από το κονσέρτο του για βιολί Νο 4, σε Ρε μείζονα : Andante Cantabile. Σολίστ, ο μεγαλύτερος κατά την άποψή μου βιολιστής που ακούστηκε ποτέ σε ηχογράφηση. Η συγκεκριμένη έρχεται από το μακρινό 1947, αλλά ο ήχος του Jascha Heifetz υπερνικάει τα τεχνικά της όρια – για τα δικά μου αυτιά τουλάχιστον.

As we wistfully approaching the end of Mozart’s month, here is a part of his Violin Concerto No. 4 in D major : Andante Cantabile. Soloist, the greatest violinist in my opinion ever heard on a recording. This particular one comes from way back in 1947, but Jascha Heifetz’s sound overcomes its technical limitations – to my ears at least.
