Our little tribute to Quincy Jones’ huge career – with emphasis on the artist’s jazz and cinematic side – continues with two of his own compositions, from the album The Quintessence, released on Impulse! in 1962. Phil Woods’ alto and Freddie Hubbard’s trumpet stand out on the title track (03:21) and ‘Hard Socks Dance’ (00:00) respectively.

Enjoy!

As always, I’m happy to hear your thoughts, however I’d highly recommend a direct dialogue with the …’source’ [why comments are closed here], so please visit Oannes’ page where you can also listen to the music!
