Οι νότες αναβλύζουν με αδιαμεσολάβητη φυσικότητα από τα πλήκτρα του κραταιού στα 69, Earl “Fatha” Hines, αυθεντικού “piano man” και μιας από τις σπάνιες περιπτώσεις καλλιτέχνη πλήρως εργαλειοποιημένου από τη μουσική. Τον ακούμε σε μια ευτυχισμένη σόλο απόδοση του δικού του ‘Blue Sands’, από τον δίσκο που κυκλοφόρησε το 1972 με τον τενορίστα του Duke Ellngton, Paul Gonsalves.

The notes flow with unmediated naturalness from the keys of Earl “Fatha” Hines, mighty at 69, original “piano man”, and one of the rare cases of an artist completely wielded by music. We hear him in a joyful solo rendition of his own ‘Blue Sands’, from the 1972 album he released with Duke Ellington’s tenor saxophonist, Paul Gonsalves.
