Η συγκεκριμένη ανάπτυξη του γρηγοριανού μέλους ‘Christe Redemptor Omnium’ (ακούσαμε ήδη – εδώ – εκείνην του Βρετανού συνθέτη John Sheppard) αποτελεί ακραία εκδήλωση μεγαλοφυίας, ακόμα και για τα απλησίαστα δεδομένα της εποχής, ακόμα και γι’ αυτά του κορυφαίου δάσκαλου της αναγεννησιακής πολυφωνίας Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525-1594).

This particular setting of the Gregorian chant Christe Redemptor Omnium (we have already heard — here — the one by the British composer John Sheppard), constitutes an extreme manifestation of genius, even by the unattainable standards of the era, even by those of the supreme master of Renaissance polyphony, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (1525–1594).
