You can practically hear the timberland creatures horsing around and chuckling in the main one, while the last one will undoubtedly have an one-celled critters playing find the stowaway. Stunning..

Ah, thank you so much for your lovely words and visit! 🙂
You can almost hear the forest animals cavorting and giggling in the top one, while the bottom one is bound to have an amoebas playing hide and seek. Lovely

Vielen Dank, lieber Klaus. Es ist warm und sonnig hier aber wir erwarten sehr kaltem Wetter vom Wochenende.
Haaapppy neeew yeaaar, Marina! Thank you for all the beautiful moments, which you share with us in this year! In Romania it is customary to make gifts in this final period of the year. You are far from me and I can not to do a physical gift. So I’m going to do a spiritual gift. Some time ago, I told you, that I’m passionate about poetry and I have another blog, where I write poetry in Romanian. Now I asked to my Romanian blog-friend Nicol (https://doarnicol.wordpress.com/), to translate one of my poems in English. Since she have advanced study of English and is also an excellent poet, he did more than a translation. She made an adaptation, showing that a poem written in English. The story is the same, but the rhythm and rhymes were adapted by Nicol for better look in English. I can not imagine how you perceive these verses (they were conceived for Romanian language), but I want that them to transmit you a little emotion and then, spiritual tranquility! I hope that the new year, to bring inspiration for you and better life for beautiful Greece!
Autumn Nostalgia (Autumn Longing)
Deeply carving their way down the cheek
Autumn tears,
Time scratching marks on the wandering soul
With the nail of silence,
Pointing at the hardened heart,
Seeming to have been vibrating
Up until yesterday.
Neither song nor rhyme
Nor colour zest,
Stir eyes
From their sad arrest.
Dancing around swirling gently
The mild Zephyr breeze,
Carrying in his arms the leaf, a sweet recover,
That in the spring he held close as his lover.
He lays her down carefully
Whilst she is dreaming silently,
Spring rhyme
For the last time.
The Zephyr jolts lively
In a brave whirl,
And then a sudden crash,
Among the clouds up high
Within the crane-tormented sky.
After all that, down my lonely look I bring
And searching for an answer in your eyes,
I roam along unknown blissful skies
I wonder… will I be here in the spring?…
Dan, this is a most wonderful gift!
Thank you so much for this beautiful poem.
You are so very talented…
I wish you a year filled with joy and an abundance of colorful words for you to compose into beautiful poems like this one here.
Here’s to a better life for everyone!
My warmest wishes! 🙂
Some time ago you translated for me, a few poems from Greek language into English. It was the first time, when I could read some Greek lyrics. I had hoped that this poetry, to be an equivalent gift. My blog-friend Nicol, promised to translate another two poems, for me. If I have your permission, I send them to you (when they will be ready), as a small reward for the wonderful music, that I listen on your blog.
I’d love to read them! No permission needed! 😉 Thank you for your kind words on our music too! 🙂
Beautiful artwork, Marina. You’re such a multi-talented woman. 🙂 xx

i think ive commented on this already, but hey, so what? that first painting on the top here…its so darn simple…just a few colors and tones..but it has untold wonders and statements to show the innocent observer…..yet again, well done, marina!
hi, my friend. Top image changes from time to time [featured image for my main page] and it’s a detail from one of my watercolors. Getting a close up on a painting’s detail can reveal so much, not even it’s creator was aware! 😉 Thank you!
Love it as usual. Congrats “Diane”. 🙂

Ah, thank you so much for your kind and very flattering words, Bill! 🙂
Hello, Marina….I came here to thank you for the “likes” and the follow and then I got lost for a while in all the delights of your artwork. Watercolor is a special favorite of mine, though I’m only a hobbyist at it. I feel a kinship to your sense of color….glad I found you, through Mary Oil Pastels!
I am also very glad I found you through Mary. I’m so happy you visited and thank you for your kind words. I do see the kinship in color! I see all us painters as hobbyists, whether earning from it or not. It’s in our nature. I look forward to more visits to your pages, Cynthia. Beautiful work!
So lovely Marina!
Thank you, Sherry!! 🙂
Your pictures are always beautiful!

Wonderful Paintings,The colours are Magic!
I just love the colours and shapes in these two images. Wonderful, Marina!
Thank you very much, Otto! I am very happy to hear that from you! 🙂
Just discovered your site. You are a real talent. Excellent use of colour.
Thank you very much, Alex!! 🙂 Happy to discover your blog too! 🙂
Thanks for the link …. I was curious to see the style, which looks familiar. Interestingly, I actually saw this sometime as I see my Like. 🙂
My profile has changed quite a bit since. Blogging was very new to me back then! Happy to have your lovely comment added to your like, Frank! 🙂
🙂
You are a gifted and talented artist I love your work! Thank you for sharing with us. Melody
Ah, thank you so much for your very kind words, my dear Melody, and thank you for sharing your absolutely wonderful world!! 🙂
I have studied these two images closely. And as I allowed the subtle colors to seep into my brain, I found myself swept up into euphoria. Then I heard mysterious music that made me think all was right in the universe. I recognized it as a Marina Kanavaki composition…
Of course this happens every time I look at your paintings, but still… : )
You’re recharging? Well, avoid electric shock, and do enjoy yourself!! : )
True, a recharge by the sea can be dangerous, but I do well with electricity! (been known to stick metal pins in sockets with my bare hands just to watch the tiny sparks, when I was a child!!!) 😆
Thank you, my friend for those mighty flattering words!
It’s so interesting what happens when you cut out a detail from a painting. Top one ( featured) is from “Between the lines ” [https://marinakanavaki.com/2012/03/30/between-the-lines] and the other one is from “As above so below #4” [https://marinakanavaki.com/2012/06/22/as-above-so-below-4]
You have just made my night AND day coming! 🙂
I’ve just looked at both full paintings, and, after being suitably mesmerized, I thought: Incredible! All her detail images succeed as individual paintings!! Even if they were reduced to the size of a single pixel, they would still be brilliant!! : )
😳 (blushing and floating on air!)
Hmmm, a single pixel you say (head scratching)!!!!!
You have made my …night, weekend, coming week and surely my October too! 🙂
I wish you a great week!
Have a look at my new blog entry.
http://marciento.wordpress.com/2013/09/13/krzyztopr-chrzistopora/
A great week to you too Marko! 🙂
[I have already! :-)]
Your paintings are lovely (as always). The video was very good as well. I am definitely an “out” person. 🙂
Thank you very much. “out” person? (also anonymous…) 🙂
I adore the bottom painting. Such lovely colors and it appears to have flow that draws my eyes to it. Keep going!! 🙂
Thank you, Christy! They are both details from paintings. The second is from “As above so below #4”. 🙂
Thanks for following “Tails from Paris”. We’re now following your blog too.
If you want to sharpen your international sense of humor, we do also have a French version called “Sous nos Couettes” : http://sousnoscouettes.com/.
Thanks for sharing if you enjoy it too …

lovely! wonderful mind calmers. thanks for sharing 🙂 – Kev
Thank you, Kev!
🙂
Love this….The colors so deep, and my favorite color(purple)…the images it evokes in my mind remind me of a fantasy….lovely!
Celeste
Thank you so much, Celeste! They are in fact details from paintings I’ve done. I think details bring out a different world then the one you set out to paint, which can only discovered once magnified [make sense?] 🙂
Simply Beautiful, Marina!
Ah, thank you, Nawfal!
🙂
Great! Love the colors!
Happy to hear that, Jess, thank you!

Beautiful colours. You are a very talented artist, Marina 🙂
Hola Marianne! Thank you very much for your compliment!
🙂
Wow! I feel like I am viewing a scene from Middle Earth! 🙂
Oh, I like that!!!! Thank you, Russ!
🙂
ive said it before..but i need to say it again…that first watercolour of yours..the one above with purples and blues in it…that just fabulous! its what a watercolour should be like…..instantaneous, spontaneous and well…..just!
Ah, thank you so much!!!!! It is actually a detail from “Between the Lines”. [You can see the full painting here: https://marinakanavaki.com/2012/03/30/between-the-lines/%5D. My thoughts exactly on watercolour! When I took my first watercolour courses I thought [and maybe it’s right too] that I can’t be instantaneous with it, so I instantaneously disliked them and for years used ink, acrylic and oil. One day however, while tiding up, I came across a tin box with lots of cute little color cubes [like square colorful pills!]. Pulled up a brush and decided to play my way! My simple watercolour story! 🙂
you know…i like the way you said that!
thats exactly what first attracted me to watercolours…those little square cubes of paint…like little sweets all wrapped up.
in fact, even when i was a child..maybe 3 or 4 yrs old, my dad bought me a simple watercolour set..you know, those cheap nasty ones made in china?
well, at that age, i thought that the paints were sweets and could be eaten, so one day, i still remember, i tried eating one of them!
i particularly like the pocket paint sets made by Winsor & Newton…they call them travel sets i think….i have 2 of them, one in zip up case and the other much smaller which folds up into a little thing not much bigger than a cellphone..it has everything you need…a tiny water bottle as well!
anyway, if you dont mind, im going to try and copy that watercolour of yours if i can…i like it so much!
be my guest!!!
That tin W&N set is the one I have too [2 of them actually!]
🙂
😉
You are full of energy: I like this one because it triggers me to be positive minded , even more as I am . thank you , grt bart
What a wonderful thing to say!
Thank you, Bart, I’m flattered!
🙂
Have a lovely positive day!!!

im just wondering how to celebrate it….!
Crack a bottle?!!!!
May you make it 300,000 in not time and then 3,000,000…

I like very much most of your work. You are immersed in the process, that is evident. It is wonderful. Keep it up.
Thank you very much for your kind words, Amnon!
I’m flattered!! 🙂
No flattery here, just the facts. However, since flattery was brought up, I’d like to take this opportunity, and tell you that I find your beauty just as moving as your art.

I feel warm with red – and are frightened by green – don’t know why…
the solution: add a little red to the green and you have a beautiful warm olive green!
🙂
Γεια σου Μαρίνα!
Just letting you know you were mentioned in my blog http://goo.gl/afihE. You don’t have to participate, i am just doing it to introduce my Greek friends to the rest of my blogging company! 🙂

Thank you so much for your continued loyalty to my site, Marina. It means a lot to me to see your name each day as a like for each of my posts. I am behind on my blog likes at present. But hope to get caught up soon. Hope you are having a fabulous week!
I enjoy doing so! Thank you. You too have a great [rest of the] week!
🙂
Really nice job. Has almost a duality to it that gives it some needed depth. Love the green color and how the yellow was used.
Thank you very much!
Love it Marina!
Thank you, Madhu!
🙂
Eric
Ah, merci merci, Eric! No, I haven’t [just Athens and London] and I’d love to exhibit work in Belgium [maybe one day!] I I’ll be sure to tell you if I come across something from Athens. I’m not much of an “outdoor” person [not city outdoor anyway] but as soon as I see something, I will let you know. Have a beautiful day.
‘A bientôt!
I love it, is very nice artwork…..
Thank you! I really enjoyed your work too.
I like.
Nice!
Thanks, Eldin!

This is beautiful. I look forward to following your blog. Keep up the great art.
Thank you so much, Cameron!
You have an original and very nice style!
Thank you so much, Ann!
Marina,
I think you should consider expanding into children’s illustration. You could use your watery techinique for backgrounds and draw the characters on another layer. You sort of did that in the Zoo.
Kathy
Kathy, thank you very much for your observation. It does sound like a nice idea. […gears grinding!]
I can only say: wow!
…wow, thank you, Ralphie!
amazing quality, and very soothing. As if I was staring at the forest itself. Thank you so much for sharing. Your art is inspirational.
Pink.
Thank you for your kind words, Pink. This is very nice to hear!
It’s absolutely true! I would totally purchase one, it’s a very soothing piece. 😀
Pink.
I just adore your art, it’s warm and embracing! Found your blogg and sites today, since my daughter (enjoymyadventure), Anne, has nominated you for ‘Very Inspiring Blogger Award’, and
you deserve it! Congratulations! While reading the sites I realized you are greek, and it so happens that I live in Athens for the time being with my greek husband.
Honestly, your art made my day, love Ingrid
I’m so happy you like my work, Ingrid! Thank you for your kind words.
Very artistic.
In NY we hardly see green around this time of the year. Like the colors & design.
Thanks Yatin. Maybe we should paint [if we can’t plant] our gray cities green, to make them a bit more …human!
Great Masterpiece artwork Marina 🙂
Thanks so much, Jake!
Thank you too and Congratulation my friend you deserve to have it
http://wp.me/P1Dwwo-nN
Thank you very much Jake, I appreciate it.
Outstanding!! Money does grow on trees! I thought so!! Numbers in the sky, and apple pie, my o my!
[Oh, yes it does!!!] Thank you Benjamin!
water color?
[if you’re referring to the top image] it is watercolour, detail of my “fortune tree” [you can see it here: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5]
Marina – I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. You can choose to accept or ignore it. But a link to your blog has been listed on my page. http://treebranchdesign.wordpress.com/about-the-owner/versatile-blogger/
Thanks so much Jennifer and thank you for your truly kind words. I really appreciate it!
I love trees. There is such a variety of shapes, sizes, colors. They shelter, beautify, inspire. Your painting gives me a contented feeling and leaves me wanting to explore the “tree” further.
Thank you Kate!
