The jazz and classical music pianist and composer, Keith Jarrett, was born on this day, May 8, 1945.

One of my very first introductions to jazz music [6yrs!] and a long lasting love.
Oannes will be doing an extensive tribute to this man tomorrow.
I just wanted to add a couple of my own very favorite pieces.
For the life of me, I never thought it would be that hard to add his music – especially The Köln Concert. Unfortunately, I could only find Part I [I wanted to add Part II B also]
and from Belonging
with Jan Garbarek, Palle Danielsson and Jon Christensen
Long As You Know You’re Living Yours
Happy Birthday, Keith!
Enjoy!
and
That was great! I really loved the second piece!
Oannes has been making some great Podcasts. Very enjoyable.
Okay, much love!!!!

Oh, i’m glad you enjoyed it. Yes he has… these were just a couple of my choices, a kind of introduction to his tribute that followed.

Still have the Köln Concert on vinyl.
Me too… too bad i can’t transfer it to cd…
We will be playing him this evening as we prepare and have our dinner. Thanks for the reminder.
Hope you had a joyful dinner! 🙂
We did. And it was wonderful having Keith play for us. We played the entire Köln concert. Then we watched “The Life of Pi.” One of the most visually beautiful and utterly spiritual movies ever made. It was a wonderful evening.
Oh, it certainly sounds like it! 🙂👍
