A tribute to Morrissey for his birthday…
A brilliant podcast by Oannes for the man we love*
✻
On this date May 22, 1959 in Davyhulme, Urmston, United Kingdom, Steven Patrick Morrissey was born, one of the most important public figures of his generation. Not only for his four decades long artistic presence, first with the Smiths and then solo, but also for his uniquely courageous attitude towards political and social issues. This has led to him being characterised as “racist”, “far-right” etc. by the usual ignorant politically correct circles.Morrissey is one of the very few people in today’s show business for whom I feel love and deep appreciation.
I made a podcast with songs from the Smiths’ and Morrissey’s albums.

It’s been decades since I kept up with pop music, so I don’t believe I’d heard of Morrissey before this post. You prompted me to read the Wikipedia article about him.
You’ve probably heard a few Smiths songs way back… I hope my prompt extends to hearing him too! 😉
Yes, I also did some listening.
Great!
Nice choice of songs! Now, over to Oannes!

I remember I used to have that first one on a loop playing (16 I think I was) but Oannes has done a wonderful podcast with his songs!

Forgot to mention that he’s also one of my heroes for being a great advocate for animals. In 1984 he released [The Smiths] an album titled “Meat Is Murder”… 😉
