Έχω παρακολουθήσει τον σπουδαίο Παναμέζο πιανίστα [συν. με Paquito D’ Rivera, Lee Konitz, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Gary Burton κ.ά.] προ δεκαετίας ζωντανά, με τον Wayne Shorter [και John Patitucci, Brian Blade] στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής – να συμβάλλει σε ένα καθηλωτικό μουσικό γεγονός, συναυλιακή εμπειρία ζωής.
Ο Γερμανός ενορχηστρωτής και συνθέτης απ’ την άλλη, υπήρξε εξέχουσα φυσιογνωμία του third stream [είδους που γεφυρώνει τρόπον τινά την κλασική με την jazz].
Το φάσμα των συνεργασιών του περιλαμβάνει καλλτέχνες όπως οι A. C. Jobim, F. Sinatra [ενορχηστρωτής του πρώτου τους άλμπουμ], o Bill Evans και ο κλασικός βιολιστής Gidon Kremer.

I’ve watched the great Panamezo pianist [collab w. Paquito D’Rivera, Lee Konitz, Charlie Haden, Joe Lovano, Gary Burton etc] a decade ago live, with Wayne Shorter [and John Patitucci, Brian Blade] at the Concert Hall – contributing to an immersive musical event, a concert goer’s life experience.
The German arranger and composer, on the other hand, was a prominent figure in the third stream [a genre that bridges classical with jazz].
His range of collaborations includes artists such as A. C. Jobim, F. Sinatra [orchestrator of their first album together], Bill Evans and the classic violinist Gidon Kremer.
