The 2nd part of my Morricone tribute has a taste of jazz: “L’Harem”, “Il Successso”, and also contemporary & avant garde: two non-cinematic moments of Ennio, his composition “Rag In Frantumi” for piano [1986] and “Quazar” [1970], from the avant garde-improvisational group Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, in which he participated as a trumpeter and flautist.

  1. Another wonderful tribute, Marina. I wasn’t familiar with him, except for my husband’s favorite Clint movie, iconic music. 🙂 So thanks for sharing. xoxo

  2. I saw on the television news that Ennio Morricone had died. My favorite piece of his is the beautiful “Gabriel’s Oboe” from the movie “The Mission”: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixby9BzJfEo].
