Oannes 2nd podcast / tribute to Ennio Morricone
✻
The 2nd part of my Morricone tribute has a taste of jazz: “L’Harem”, “Il Successso”, and also contemporary & avant garde: two non-cinematic moments of Ennio, his composition “Rag In Frantumi” for piano [1986] and “Quazar” [1970], from the avant garde-improvisational group Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, in which he participated as a trumpeter and flautist.

One of the most inspired orchestrators and soundtrack composers of all times. Excellent tribute to his work. Congratulations for your post
He was indeed! I will forward your kind words to Oannes! Ευχαριστούμε πολύ.
Another wonderful tribute, Marina. I wasn’t familiar with him, except for my husband’s favorite Clint movie, iconic music. 🙂 So thanks for sharing. xoxo
Those Clint movies… I still love to watch! 😉
He was an amazing musician. So glad you enjoyed.
❤😘😘😘
I saw on the television news that Ennio Morricone had died. My favorite piece of his is the beautiful “Gabriel’s Oboe” from the movie “The Mission”: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixby9BzJfEo].
Ah, yes, it’s a moving piece… there are so many he’s written that I love…
I first encountered his music in the so-called spaghetti western films of the 1960s.
My first encounter was The Good The Bad and The Ugly!
I was living in Honduras at the time, where that film was billed as “Lo Bueno, lo Malo, y lo Feo.” I also saw “Por un Puñal de Dólares” (“For a Fistful of Dollars”) there.
I saw both during summer holidays late 70s I think, at a summer cinema. I remember as if it was yesterday! 😉
Bless him and may he Rest in Peace. 😦
🙏…yes, my friend.
