from Oannes …a promising duet

Δυο μικρά προβλήματα με το ντουέτο των Lets’ Eat Grandma: πρώτο, το ονοματάκι τους: στην ηλικία τους [ξεκίνησαν στα 17], δεν είχα καμία αποστροφή για τους ηλικιωμένους. Αντίθετα, μου φαίνονταν πιο αξιοπρεπείς και εμπιστεύσιμοι από τους συνήθως θορυβώδεις, γεμάτους “εγώ” νέους ανθρώπους.
Δεύτερο πρόβλημα, κάποια cartoon-like φωνητικά τους στιγμιότυπα [δεν υπάρχουν τέτοια εδώ].
Τούτων δοθέντων, οι νεαρές Αγγλίδες έχουν εντυπωσιακό ταλέντο, ιδέες, αναφορές σε πράγματα οικεία [από Kate Bush μέχρι Cocteau Twins και Bjork] και δυο ήδη ενδιαφέροντα άλμπουμ στο ενεργητικό τους: ο ορισμός του “ελπιδοφόρου”.

Two minor problems with this English duet: number one, their name – at their age [17 when started], I had no aversion to the elderly. On the contrary, they seemed to me more dignified and trustworthy than the “young ones”, usually arrogant and self-indulgent.
Problem number two with Lets’ Eat Grandma, some overly cartoon-like vocal snapshots [no such thing here]…
That said, the girls are impressively talented, with references to intimate things [from Kate Bush to Cocteau Twins and Bjork] and two already interesting albums to their credit: the definition of “new hope.”
