from Oannes * tribute to «cosmic» songs

Προτιμώ τις πιο λυρικές και εσωστρεφείς συνθέσεις του Βαγγέλη Παπαθανασίου από τα μεγαλόπνοα projects με τα οποία έχει κυρίως συνδεθεί το όνομά του. Αυτή είναι κατά την άποψή μου μια από τις «ακριβές» στιγμές στην πορεία του Έλληνα καλλιτέχνη, και από εκείνες που έχουν προσεχτεί όσο τους άξιζε. Ο ίδιος, παρεμπιπτόντως, αντίθετα απ’ ότι ίσως νομίζεται, δεν έχει τιμηθεί παρά ελάχιστα απ’ την ίδια του τη χώρα.

I prefer the lyrical and introverted Vangelis’ compositions than the grandiose projects with which his name is mainly associated.
This is one of the precious moments in his composing career, and one that, fortunately, has been adequately noted by the audience.
