Ο Johann Pachelbel [1653-1706] θεωρείται μια απ’ τις σημαντικότερες φυσιογνωμίες της εποχής του μπαρόκ – status εκπληκτικά υψηλό για ένα καλλιτέχνη. Παρόλα αυτά, και παρά τον αξιοσημείωτο όγκο ενός έργου που περιλαμβάνει μουσική κοσμική και εκκλησιαστική, φωνητική και οργανική, ο Γερμανός συνθέτης αποτελεί το “απόλυτο” [μαζί με τον Albinoni] one hit wonder, όντας γνωστός αποκλειστικά για τoν περίφημο Κανόνα του. Ο τελευταίος έχει αποτελέσει φανερό [ή …κρυφό] μοντέλο για τη δημιουργία ενός πλήθους τραγουδιών [το “Let It Be” των Beatles είναι απλώς η κορυφή του παγόβουνου] κάποια απ’ τα οποία είναι εμβληματικά της ποπ κουλτούρας.
Ακούμε την μελοποίηση του Λουθηρανικού ύμνου ‘Wie nichtig? Ach! Wie flüchtig’ [Πόσο εφήμερα, α πόσο φευγαλέα], από τον Johann Pachelbel – κείμενο στο οποίο έχουν εγκύψει αρκετοί συνθέτες, ο Bach ανάμεσά τους.
Ερμηνεύει ο τενόρος Hans Jörg Mammel. Το σύνολο Gli Incogniti διευθύνει η Amandine Beyer.

Johann Pachelbel [1653-1706] is considered one of the most important figures of the Baroque era – a status extremely high for an artist. Nevertheless, and despite the remarkable volume of a work which includes secular and ecclesiastical music, vocal and instrumental, the German composer is the “absolute” one hit wonder [along with Albinoni], been known exclusively for his famous Canon. The latter has been an obvious [or … hidden] model for a multitude of songs [The Beatles’ “Let It Be” is just the tip of the iceberg], some of which are emblematic of pop culture.
We hear his work of the Lutheran hymn ‘Wie nichtig? Ach! Wie flüchtig’ [Ηow transitory, ah, how fleeting], by Johann Pachelbel – a text which several composers, Bach among them, have set to music.
It is performed by tenor Hans Jörg Mammel. The Gli Incogniti ensemble is conducted by Amandine Beyer.
