from Oannes *

Εικοσιτεσσάρων ετών μόλις ο μεγάλος Βοημός ολοκληρώνει την Πρώτη Συμφωνία του, έργο 3 την οποία δεν επρόκειτο να ακούσει ποτέ : το χειρόγραφο θα χανόταν, για να ανακαλυφθεί μετά το θάνατο του Dvořák που έλαβε χώρα το 1904. Το έργο είχε εντέλει την πρεμιέρα του τρεις δεκαετίες αργότερα.
Η ιστορία της εξαφάνισης και της ανακάλυψης του χειρόγραφου θα μπορούσε να τροφοδοτήσει ένα διήγημα – ίσως κάποια στιγμή να επιστρέψουμε σ’ αυτήν.
Προς το παρόν ακούμε ακούμε το τρίτο μέρος, Allegretto της Συμφωνίας Νο 1 του συνθέτη του μήνα.

Only twenty-four years old, the great Bohemian completes his First Symphony, op. 3 which he wasn’t meant to hear: the manuscript would be lost, only to be discovered after Dvořák’s death which happened in 1904. The work’s premiere was given at last, three decades later.
The story of the manuscript’s disappearance and discovery could be used as the substance of a novel – maybe we’ll return to it sometime.
For now we are hearing the third part, Allegretto of Symphony No 1 by his month’s composer.
