Σε μια εποχή όπου όλα τα πράγματα αποτελούν “ιστορία εν τη γενέσει”, ιδού ένα κομμάτι αληθινής μουσικής ιστορίας.
Το 1965 ο Vladimir Horowitz κυκλοφορεί την πρώτη του ηχογράφηση σονατών του Domenico Scarlatti, αποσπώντας τον ενθουσιασμό κριτικών και κοινού. Έχοντας ήδη καθιερωθεί ως ο κορυφαίος πιανίστας της εποχής του στο κλασικό και ρομαντικό ρεπερτόριο, ο βιρτουόζος έκανε τώρα μια ερμηνεία αναφοράς στη μουσική του πρωτοπόρου μπαρόκ συνθέτη, μεταφέροντας, ως διά μαγείας αυτούσιο, το πνεύμα του στο πιάνο.
Να πώς ξεκίναγε το μνημειώδες άλμπουμ. Δεν θα ξεχάσω την πρώτη φορά που το άκουσα, 38 χρόνια πριν.

In the era of all things “history in the making”, here’s a slice of true music history.
In 1965, Vladimir Horowitz is releasing his first recording of Domenico Scarlatti’s sonatas, to the ecstatic applause of critics and the public. Having already established himself as the leading pianist of his era on classic and romantic repertoire, the virtuoso was now making a reference performance of the forward thinking baroque composer’ s music, transferring his spirit to the piano as by magic.
Here’s how the monumental album started. I’ ll never forget first time I heard this one, 38 years ago.
