Η όπερα του Jean Baptiste Lully ‘Armide’, από τα κορυφαίες στιγμές του γαλλικού μπαρόκ, είναι βασισμένη στο ποίημα του Τορκουάτο Τάσσο ‘Απελευθερωμένη Ιερουσαλήμ’ – το λιμπρέτο ανήκει στον Philppe Quinault. Η ιστορία μαγείας και έρωτα εκτυλίσσεται την εποχή Πρώτης Σταυροφορίας, με κεντρικά πρόσωπα την μάγισσα Armide και τον Χριστιανό ιππότη Renaud. Ακούμε τον διάλογο ανάμεσα στη Δόξα – Véronique Gens και τη Σοφία – Noémi Rime από την εισαγωγή του έργου.
Ο Lully υπήρξε ένας ακόμα καθοριστικός για τη γαλλική μουσική συνθέτης, προερχόμενος εξ αλλοδαπής – γεννήθηκε στη Φλωρεντία, το Νοέμβριο του 1632.

Jean Baptiste Lully’s opera ‘Armide’, one of the highlights of French Baroque, is based on Torquato Tasso’s poem ‘Liberated Jerusalem’ – the libretto belongs to Philppe Quinault.
The story of magic and love takes place at the time of the First Crusade, with Armide the sorceress and the Renaud the Christian knight as central characters. We hear the dialogue between Glory – Véronique Gens and Wisdom – Noémi Rime from the introduction of the work.
Lully was yet another defining composer for French music, coming from abroad – he was born in Florence in November 1632.
