Αποσπάσματα από τη μουσική του LVB για το θεατρικό ‘Τα Ερείπια Των Αθηνών’ [1811, August Von Kotzebue]. Σ’ αυτό, η θεά Αθηνά ξυπνά από αώνων ύπνο, θρηνώντας την κατεστραμμένη πόλη της, μέρος πια της Οθωμανικής Αυτοκρατορίας.
Φοβάμαι ότι το έργο οσονούπω θα καταστεί ανατριχιαστικά επίκαιρο.
Μιλώντας για “ανατριχιαστικό”, δεν νομίζω να υπάρχει πιο ταιριαστή λέξη για το πρώτο κομμάτι, το ‘Χορωδιακό των Δερβίσηδων’, ακολουθούμενο απο το ευρύτερα γνωστό ‘Τουρκικό Μαρς΄ – η επιλογή των tracks έγινε από διαφορετικές εκτελέσεις.

Excerpts from LVB’s music for the theatrical play ‘The Ruins of Athens’ [1811, August Von Kotzebue]. In it, the goddess Athena wakes up from centuries of sleep, mourning her ruined city, now part of the Ottoman Empire.
I am afraid the work is about to become chillingly up-to-date.
Speaking of “chilling”, I don’t think there is a word more fitting for the first piece, the ‘Dervishes’ Choir’, followed by the wider known ‘Turkish March’ – the choice of tracks was made from different performances.
