Μια από τις αξιοσημείωτες περιπτώσεις του κλαμπ των γεννημένων Ιανουάριο ο Άγγλος υστερορομαντικός Frederick Delius [1862-1934], με το ιδιαίτερα προσωπικό, χρωματικό – “απεικονιστικό” στιλ και τις ποικίλες επιρροές από σχολές και φολκλορικές παραδόσεις – πλην άλλων ήταν από τους πρώτους που αφέθηκαν να επηρεαστούν από την “μαύρη μουσική”, στα τέλη του 19ου αι.
Ακούμε δυο κομμάτια του : Winter Landscape [00:00] από το ορχηστρικό έργο North Country Sketches διασκευασμένο για πιάνο 4 χέρια, και την Εισαγωγή [04:03] από την όπερά του ‘Irmelin’.

One of the notable cases of the January born club is the English post-romantic Frederick Delius [1862-1934], with his highly personal, chromatic – “imaging” style and various influences from schools and folklore traditions – he was, among other things, one of the first to be influenced by “black music” in the late 19th century.
We hear two of his pieces: Winter Landscape [00:00] from the orchestral work North Country Sketches arranged for piano 4 hands, and the Overture [04:03] from his opera ‘Irmelin’.
