Κατά ειρωνία της μοίρας, ο Tomaso Albinoni [1671-1751], από τους κορυφαίους του ιταλικού μπαρόκ, είναι ευρύτερα γνωστός για ένα και μόνο έργο, το περίφημο Adagio, το οποίο δεν είναι καν δικό του [για λεπτομέρειες, check εδώ].
Η Alison Balsom είναι μια από τις σημαντικότερες τρομπετίστριες της γενιάς της, και από τις περιπτώσεις όπου η “φωτογένεια” αποτελεί απλώς, όπως θα έπρεπε, το κερασάκι.
Στο άλμπουμ της Italian Concertos έχει συμπεριλαμβάνει συνθέσεις που γράφτηκαν κατ’ αρχήν για άλλα όργανα, όπως η υπέροχη Εκκλησιαστική Σονάτα για Βιολί σε Ρε Ελάσσονα του Albinoni, που ακούμε σε μεταγραφή για τρομπέτα.

Ironically, Tomaso Albinoni [1671-1751], one of Italian baroque’s greats is best known for a single work, the famous Adagio, which is not even his own [for details, check here].
Alison Balsom is one of the leading trumpet players of her generation, and one of those cases where “being photogenic” is just the cherry on top, as it should be.
On her album Italian Concertos she has included compositions originally written for other instruments, such as Albinoni’s wonderful Church Violin Sonata In D Minor which we hear transcribed for trumpet.
